Eagles 99 team might have the most future HCs of all time

Stolen from Reddit, but thought would be good discussion in this slow time of the offseason.

The 1999 Eagles produced 9 future NFL head coaches. Has any team had produced more?

Andy Reid is pretty well-known for having a large coaching tree. I've personally been interested in how many people from Reid's time with the Eagles, particularly from the earlier part of his tenure (1999-2004) ultimately went on to the become head coaches. Currently, as far as I can tell, 8 coaches from the 1999 team (not counting Reid himself) later went on to serve as an NFL head coach, while 1 player (Doug Pederson) also served as head coach. It seems unlikely that any more coaches from that team will ever serve as head coach, but there are few players who probably have a chance.

I put this list together a couple months ago but wanted to save it as an offseason post, so apologies if I missed any updates since then. The list is focused primarily on whether someone became a head coach and, if not, what they are currently doing and what their highest position was.

Are there any other teams that have had so many coaches and players go on to become head coaches? And did I miss anyone from the 1999 team or later teams?

Coaches on 1999 team:

* HC: **Andy Reid** (current Chiefs HC)
* OC: Rod Dowhower (retired after 2001 season)
* QB: **Brad Childress** (Eagles OC 2002-2005, Vikings HC 2006-2010)
* RB: Ted Williams (retired after 2014 season)
* WR: **David Culley** (Houston HC 2021)
* TE: **Pat Shurmur** (Cleveland HC 2011-2012, NYG HC 2018-2019)
* OL: Juan Castillo (later Eagles DC 2011-2012, current analyst for Michigan)
* OQC: Tom Melvin (currently the Chiefs TE coach)
* DC: Jim Johnson (retired after 2008 season)
* DL: Tommy Brasher (retired after 2017 season)
* LB: **Ron Rivera** (Carolina HC 2011-2019, Washington HC 2020-2023)
* DB: **Leslie Frazier** (Minnesota HC 2010-2013)
* DQC: **Steve Spagnuolo** (St. Louis HC 2009-2011)
* SP: **John Harbaugh** (current Ravens HC)
* Assistant: **Sean McDermott** (later succeeded Johnson as Eagles DC; current Bills HC)

Players on 1999 team:

* QB: **Doug Pederson** (Eagles HC 2016-2020, Jaguars HC 2022-2024)
* RB: Eric Bieniemy (Chiefs OC 2018-2022, Commanders OC 2023)
* RB: Duce Staley (current Browns RB coach)
* LB: Mike Caldwell (current Bucs LB coach)
* CB: Troy Vincent (current NFL VP of football operations)
* CB: Al Harris (currently Bears defensive passing game coordinator)

Later coaches under Reid on the Eagles:

* SPQC (joined in 2001): Dave Toub (currently Chiefs special teams coordinator)
* OQC (joined in 2008): **Matt Nagy** (Bears HC 2018-2021)

Later players under Reid on the Eagles:

* WR (joined in 2000): Todd Pinkston (currently Chiefs RB coach)
* OT (joined in 2000): Jon Runyan (currently NFL VP of Policy and Rules Administration)
* C (joined in 2000): Hank Fraley (current Lions run game coordinator)
* WR (joined in 2003): Greg Lewis (current Ravens WR coach)
* QB (joined in 2010): Mike Kafka (current NYG OC)

Marty Schottenheimers tree ultimately was alot more successful than him. With like 3 Super Bowl trophies.

Marty had some pretty loaded coaching staffs with the Chiefs. The 91 team had Bill Cowher, Tony Dungy, Bruce Arians, Al Saunders, plus Howard Mudd who many consider the best OL coach of all time. Herm Edwards was also a scout for the team at that time.

A couple years later as some of those guys moved on, Herm and Mike McCarthy eventually became assistants for the team too.
