Mock 2.0 (4 rounds)

1. Josh Conerly, OT, Oregon - barring the Chiefs hedging their bet at LT with a guy like Wills, I expect the Chiefs to take Conerly if he's there, which I think he will be. The Chiefs have positioned themselves to go BPA, but I just have this feeling they will try to solidify LT once and for all. Not my preference, but I get it.

2. Alfred Collins, DT, Texas - Collins can come in day 1 and start at NT next to Chris Jones. I also think he has more upside as a pass rusher than he's given credit for even if he'll probably never have big sack numbers.

3. Jordan Burch, EDGE, Oregon - The Chiefs double dip at DL and take an edge that fits the Spags profile. Great size and he has the ability to slide inside on long downs.

3. Cam Skattebo, RB, Arizona St. - I know a lot of people don't like this guy, but he's a pretty damn good value at this spot late in the 3rd and can probably be a day 1 starter at RB if Andy allows for it. I just have a feeling Andy will absolutely love Skattebo. I think he's somewhat similar to Hunt coming out as well.

4. Kyle Williams, WR, Washington St. - I don't think the Chiefs take a WR in the first 2 days, and I'm not all that confident they take one here, but I hope they do. Williams has been my guy throughout this entire process, and I think he may be the most underrated prospect in the entire draft. Chris Simms had him in his top 5 WRs.

In.

This is going to look eerily similar to my final mock. Some caveats on a couple of "whos" but probably not positions.

I want to gain some thoughts from a couple of late-generated sources in terms of final round values is about it.

My major knock on this one is that I prefer Elijah Roberts and Jared Ivey to Jordan Burch. I get the appeal though.

This is almost exactly what I think they’re gonna do tbh. Conerly is probably gonna be the pick and I pray to God he doesn’t suck

Man, Skattebo is just one of those guys, isn't he? He's a ****ing football player. He runs like ****ing John Riggins. Does the first tackler EVER bring him down?

yeah - i'd be fine with that.

I mean if Dylan Sampson is there in the 3rd I'd rather go that route. Or more accurately, I'd rather see someone like Benjamin Morrison slide to that spot and get a DB there. But RB is another solid target area in that spot of the draft.

Extremely solid, basically exactly what I want. I’m not the biggest Skattebo fan, yet, but if we take him I’ll convert lol

I like Alfred Collins size and his run defense. I’m just not there on his pass rush. 18 pressures last year and 23 in 2023 whereas his teammate Vernon Broughton had 32 pressures and 4 sacks in his one year starting.

Maybe I’m not looking hard enough at Collins? Broughton is still my guy though

It's not all about pass rush when you're looking at need at NT. I think Collins is an excellent complimentary piece to a good 3T. I wouldn't be opposed to seeing KC draft both of those Texas DL.
