2nd Annual Saccappoo "Pick 3" Draft Championship - 2025

CP Draft-Head's,

Welcome back to the 2nd Annual Saccappoo "Pick 3" Draft Championship - 2025 edition!!!

The game is simple, "pick 3" players for each pick that you think our Chiefs will take, and whoever gets the most correct wins. You can edit up until the start of the draft.

Rank your choices accordingly per round, we'll reference this in the event of a tie. Secondarily, we'll give consideration for having the right player in the wrong round:

100 Points for correct name in correct round
50 Points for correct name but one round removed
25 Points for correct name but two or more rounds removed

1st Prize is a Chiefs cap! ...assuming you're comfortable providing an address for me to ship it to you. Last season KCcrow was our winner and he graciously donated his $50 Chiefs hat credit to the local Children’s hospital.. Super classy move Crow!

Good luck!

A couple of suggestions for consideration:

"I propose that [this] year we pick ...
3 players for the first round
4 players for the second round
5 players for the third round
and so on up to 10 players for the seventh round. It's really difficult to hit a seventh-round pick given all of the options.” -Rain

"…I’m considering adding light multipliers for the 2nd - 7th round picks, because they’re increasingly more difficult than the 1st round. Let me know what you think?” - Couch

Please offer any suggestions you might have!

I would say do it by day... Day 1 (R1) = 3 Options, Day 2 (R2 & R3) = 4 Options, and Day 3 (R4, R5, R6, R7) = 5 Options for each round.

I don't know about adding a multiplier, though, because you're already getting some points if you have the name in the wrong round. Landing a correct name from your R5 guesses could get you points from R3 to R7.

I forgot when I was writing above that we're doing it by selection. So is it points 2 rounds removed or 2 selections removed? That's an important distinction I suppose.

.5 points if you have the right name but you’re 1 round off
.25 points if you have the right name but it’s 2 or more rounds off

I think this is probably the solution.

My only reservation is that we have 3 picks in the 7th, which would equal 15 selections, just feels like a lot but that’s only for this season so it probably still makes sense.

Also, I’m tempted to say 2nd-4th should have 4 picks, 5-7th should have 5 picks, but that’s an arbitrary assignment and by day is more official.

Also, kinda kills the whole “pick 3” title lol

I’ll hold off on changing it for a bit to allow for additional opinions.

Honestly, I'm perfectly fine with the current layout personally. It's not easy but it's fun.

For the multiplier concept I proposed, I was thinking...

RD 1 = 1x or 100 pts
RD 2 = 1.2x or 120 pts
RD 3 = 1.3x or 130 pts
RD 4 = 1.4x or 140 pts
RD 5 = 1.5x or 150 pts
RD 6 = 1.6x or 160 pts
RD 7 = 1.7x or 170 pts

If you have a guy in say round 3 but he goes in round 4, then you’d get 50% of the points for the round he went in, which would be 70 points. If you picked the guy in round 3 but he goes in round 5 or later, then you'd get 25% of the points for the round he’s chosen which would be 37.5 points using Rd 5 as the example. This would maintain the difficulty of the pick 3 concept. I’m using rounds for simplicity in this explanation, but to clarify what I mean is picks… if you chose a guy at the top of the 7th and he goes in the bottom of the 7th, that’d be 25% because he went two picks away.

But I think either works as a solution, or both which I think might be the answer. Adding the additional selections would make the game more fun maybe bc we’d hit on more selections theoretically.

Not trying to complicate the concept, just tinkering a bit.

Anyone else have thoughts on this?
