Veach setting up for DT in 1st?

With the moves in free agency so far and the re-signings leading up to free agency, Veach seems to be setting up to draft a DT in Round 1, but no later than Round 2.

Looking at all the draft gurus in here. Is there a DT worth drafting at 31?

You're going to be disappointed if you think this way...the Chiefs since hiring Spags haven't valued DT at all.

Could this year be different? Yea but if it is it's because there's a DT that fits their mold, long, leanish, ability to lineup all over the place.

I’d expect a couple picks along the DL, but also wouldn’t hate another offensive weapon to fall.

RB can be had in the mid rounds, but if Omarion Hampton is there…man that would be tempting.

I think it's more they're trying to setup to be able to take whoever the best player on the board is..

People might get a bit upset if that ends up WR or CB which it easily could.

I’d love a DT, say no to a DE

WR and DT are my top 2. Would still like to double dip at OT but doubt that comes in rd 1 unless Simmons falls and/or they’re in love with Conerly.

It just seems like the timing and situation is right. Chris Jones isn't getting any younger and with Wharton probably leaving there is nothing else at DT. Outside of Notre Dame games I didn't get to watch much college football this year. I have no idea how deep this draft is at DT, but I would be surprised if the Chiefs didn't draft a DT with either of their first 2 picks.

The Chiefs didn’t value Corner for the first 3 years with Spags either until a talent like McDuffie was there.

This is the best DL draft since 2019. There’s gonna be extremely talented DT’s there.

Yea but the difference in that and this is Spags very obviously has a type when it comes to defensive linemen. I think he's a little more open about DB's not filling every box when DL he is not. He is very very in a very specific hole about what he wants in DL.

Omenihu is a FA. Why on earth would we say no to a DE?

Which one, because they have to fit a very specific mold for what Spags likes..

I could easily see the Chiefs drafting Shemar Stewart and everyone groaning.

I think you’re gonna see DL, RB and CB early. I think they double dip at DL and draft another safety as well

Not that many guys fit the bill of the "Spags DL" so if they actually do take 2 of them in the first 3 rounds I fully expect groaning.

when everything shakes out.. I wouldn't be surprised to have 3 new bodies along the D-line. DL or Edge.. but 3 of them.

even if one is a Rookie FA

sucks to lose Turk but the rest of just guys. May as well be big, young and cheaper
