First mock draft

I plan on working up to a full roster breakdown like many do, but in the meantime, I'll start with a 7 round mock.

With this draft I'm assuming Justin Reid leaves via FA as well as Omenihu.

Pick 31: Josh Conerly Jr - OT - Oregon; We're done fooling around at LT and trade our 2025 + 2026 first to move up and hopefully lock down the man who will protect Patrick's blindside for the next 10 years

Pick 63: Landon Jackson - DE - Arkansas; His draft position seems all over the place, I've seen him at the end of the first all the way down to the early third. However, we get a powerful big bodied end who can hold up against the run with some room to grow into a pass rusher

Pick 66: Andrew Makuba - S - Texas; Makuba cut his teeth with two of the best defensive minds in college football between his time at Clemson and Texas. He's a physical safety who was able to pick up Pete Kwiatkowski's complicated scheme in less than a season. He's a natural fit to replace Reid on the back end.

Pick 95: Cobee Bryant - CB - Kansas; Versatile corner who can play both outside and in the slot. Ball hawk with the fluidity and athleticism to be a chess piece in a Spags defense.

Pick 141: Demetrius Knight Jr - LB - South Carolina; An athletic linebacker who is at his best in coverage and moving sideline to sideline.

Pick 168: Brayshul Tuten - RB Virginia Tech; This might be a bit of a reach as he is unrefined and has a lot of room to grow, but Tuten is a legitimate homerun threat who can also run between the tackles and be a receiver out of the backfield. If he can develop, he could eventually be a steal.

Pick 232: Nick Nash - WR - San Jose State: A former QB who converted to WR in college. Shows a good understanding of defenses while being a fluid athlete who doesn't mind going over the middle.

Pick 256: Connor Colby - OG - Iowa; A versatile guard who has played both guard spots and kicked out to RT a few times.

I like the Cobee Bryant pick! Have also had my eye on him in the mid rounds. We don’t seem to be producing any interceptions.

Thanks man, I really like how he fits in our secondary.

Next draft I'll take a tightend in the first round to get more engagement!

Agreed. There was a CB last draft named the same, can’t imagine naming my kid after a famous sports icon.

It’s difficult for me to take a DE in the 2nd. We’re going to pay Karlaftis. We have Dana and FAU. Just think a DE doesn’t get the playing time a DT or RB would on this team. I have no problem with a safety but it would depend on who’s on the board.

Who are we trading up with to get that OT? Not many teams willing to play ball with us.

Dana & FAU are low impact players.

Danna is what he is, but FAU is still growing.
The point still stands that unless the DE is a stud day one, they're not going to play much.

Thanks man. I agree with you on taking a DT in the second (or even the first if we don't trade up for a tackle).

I was trying to mix it up a bit since quite a few drafts are slating us to take Walker in the second and just didn't want to copy/paste from those.
