PFF: Poor game from Fisher

Yup. Very poor game.

I’m not in the business of making excuses for someone, but how bad is the hand of Eric Fisher (-4.5)? I ask because his performance was of such a level and he seemed to be favoring his hand so often, that the question had to be asked: are the Chiefs doing the right thing getting him game time as opposed to letting him heal?

He had to leave the field after Will Tukuafu got the better of him with 4:05 to go in the first and yet he would return to finish out the first half. That wasn’t the only time he struggled as Ray McDonald was too powerful for him at the point of attack on the opening drive, having no problem working on his inside shoulder and getting off his blocking attempts.

In pass protection, Parys Haralson (hurry and sack), Corey Lemonier (hurry) and Ahmad Brooks (hurry with an assist from some hands to the face) all got past him, while he failed on two occasions to execute cut blocks on stretch runs.

More is expected of the first overall pick.

The fact you think these 2 things are the same proves you are ****ing reeruned.

Was I for the Romeo hire? Nope. Did I think he should be crucified before the season? Nope.

Did I bash him unmercifully most of last season? Yes, yes I did.

Did I like the Haley hire? Yup, I still do and he is no longer a Chief. Haley was not the issue and I said that all along.

You still haven't disputed my point. Reid was an OL and coached OL for 9 years.

Who should I trust with Fishers development, you or him?

I have opinions and they aren't based on well the Chiefs hired this person or did that so it must be right. I try to be objective.

Again if you cant tell the difference that doesn't make me dumb.

Actually yea, my comment and our conversation was very much about both of these guys. Are you delusional?

Everyone here wants Eric Fisher to be great. EVERYONE. it's just that some aren't gonna ignore the early levels of suck and think it means nothing. Some take things at face value and right now, Eric Fisher is flat out TERRIBLE and we spent the first pick in the draft on him.

For that high of a pick, shouldn't he AT LEAST be an IMMEDIATE upgrade to Eric Winston (who we cut to make room for Fisher) and flash the ability to throw around backup quality players....or even be able to throw around third string playersxthat were cut from 2 win teams like Austen Lane?

FFS, I would HOPE SO.

If you draft a position like RT, guard, ILB, fullback, kicker or punter (positions of less importance than playmaking skill position guys or other positions that impact wins and losses) that high in the draft, that player better enter the league KICKING ASSES AND TAKING NAMES.

Right now, Eric Fisher is doing nothing but putting a larger target on his back for opposing players to shoot at so they can say:

"I kicked the ass of the first overall pick in the draft"

If something doesn't drastically chanclge quickly, a lot of players are gonna get that feather in their cap.

I'm having a spirited twitter debate right now with fans who:

1. Think Fisher didn't look that bad and just needs time.

2. Think Tyson Jackson isn't a bust.

I think RT is a more important position than you're giving it credit, I mean, you yourself said that teams will put their best pass rushers on that side due to matchups.

No matter who we drafted, I wouldn't expect them to be more than an average to above average player at their position year 1.

By year 3 or 4, he needs to be a dominant player at his position and challenging to be an all pro.

Fisher hasn't been good up to this point, and I wish we had taken Richardson as I think he would have been a better pick.

But we picked Fisher, and I'll let that play out before I totally crucify the guy.

While I'm not Marcellus biggest fan by any means, we could probably find some stuff you've said on here thats been pretty off.

Hell, I've said some dumb shit. Alot of it.

I just want to watch a competent winning franchise. I've skewed my vision on things a lot because I want/hope that happens.

How are the quotes I provided not EXACT PROOF of that?

This is why it's a waste of time talking with people that don't own their own failures.

At least I own mine.

Also, you didn't say "during the season"....you clearly said "during the offseason".

Which is exactly what I searched for, and found INSTANTLY.

And don't give me the act like Andy Reid is some OL guru.

He isn't.

In fact, look at the long line of OL failures he drafted.

He drafted a 28 year old guard in the first round a few years back
How about Shawn Andrews?

Shit, if anything, Andy Reid has shown that he is a TERRIBLE OL evaluator and hopefully that changes with thus Fisher kid, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

Boss that is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. Do you think for 2 minute Fisher is sitting around thinking OMG I am making a bigger target of myself.

Do you really think other players are working harder in camp so they can kick his ass specifically?

JFC what a crock.

Fisher is working to get better, end of story. That's all he is concerned about I am certain of that.

If the guy feels any kind of pressure being the #1 I am fine with it because that means he cares. He already got his $. All he cares about right now is learning his job and kicking ass.

Shawn Andrews wasnt a bad OL, he did have injury issues and then flaked out but he was a 2 time probowler. He didn't break his own leg FFS.

And the fact you cant figure out that just because I dont turn all weepy vagina every offseason that doesn't mean I just go with whatever the Chiefs do.

How did YOU feel about the Reid hire? And since you know so much about me, who did I want as coach this off season before Reid was hired?

Marcellus, tell me more stories about Andy Reid and his ability to work with OL at a high level.

Give me a list of Andy Reids successful offensive line picks so I can get a warm fuzzy feeling about Eric Fisher
