PFF: Poor game from Fisher

Yup. Very poor game.

I’m not in the business of making excuses for someone, but how bad is the hand of Eric Fisher (-4.5)? I ask because his performance was of such a level and he seemed to be favoring his hand so often, that the question had to be asked: are the Chiefs doing the right thing getting him game time as opposed to letting him heal?

He had to leave the field after Will Tukuafu got the better of him with 4:05 to go in the first and yet he would return to finish out the first half. That wasn’t the only time he struggled as Ray McDonald was too powerful for him at the point of attack on the opening drive, having no problem working on his inside shoulder and getting off his blocking attempts.

In pass protection, Parys Haralson (hurry and sack), Corey Lemonier (hurry) and Ahmad Brooks (hurry with an assist from some hands to the face) all got past him, while he failed on two occasions to execute cut blocks on stretch runs.

More is expected of the first overall pick.

Curious, how could we have fielded a Super Bowl team this year in your opinion?

We're just calling it like we see it. Eric Fisher looked shitty in his preseason games. Fact. We're not trying to draw anything more out of it than that.

He's got a lot of work to do. Hope he's up to it.

That's all.
Agreed with all of it.

he does. I think everyone should understand that he is going to struggle some. Its a huge jump from college to the pros, and hes learning a new position. And yes, he looked slow, and confused, and over powered.

Too much thinking.....Unsure of his feet, having to realize that he cant over power guys up here. its all relative. I think by mid season he will be just fine. They will prolly have to keep a tight end at first to help him out until he gets it down.

I hope that's the best ol in football, cause if it is, our defense dominated it.

If Denver drafted Eric Fisher at 30th overall and he was playing as bad for Denver as he has for KC...these dumbass truefans would be laughing at Denver for making that pick.

But, the guy has an Arrowhead on his helmet so we should all just back off.

You can't seriously be saying that Albert is getting scapegoated for Smith hanging onto the ball too long.

****ing dudes were coming in unblocked. Untouched. And four of those sacks happened after he left the game.

Look, people. It was a rough outing. But the whole "seven sacks!" nonsense implies that it was the starting unit that gave up seven sacks with Smith behind center.

This whole thing is just a little over the top.

Yes, Fisher struggled. He got bitch slapped a couple of times. The whole offensive line struggled with heavy pass rush.

It was not, however, the unmitigated disaster that it's being remembered as.

The only way they could of considered a super bowl run this year, was exactly the way they did it.

They tried to make the strongest part of the team, the defense, stronger. Bringing in Sean Smith, DeVito, Dunta Suckinson, drafting Nico Johnson, and bringing in Sutton.

The offense was devoid of talent at qb, and wr, and hasn't improved at all at receiver as of yet because they haven't let Avery run with the 1's, and Alex Smith is a slight upgrade at qb.

This. Let's predict the season and players' future's because Fisher sucked ass in the first 2 preseason games.
