PFF: Poor game from Fisher

Yup. Very poor game.

I’m not in the business of making excuses for someone, but how bad is the hand of Eric Fisher (-4.5)? I ask because his performance was of such a level and he seemed to be favoring his hand so often, that the question had to be asked: are the Chiefs doing the right thing getting him game time as opposed to letting him heal?

He had to leave the field after Will Tukuafu got the better of him with 4:05 to go in the first and yet he would return to finish out the first half. That wasn’t the only time he struggled as Ray McDonald was too powerful for him at the point of attack on the opening drive, having no problem working on his inside shoulder and getting off his blocking attempts.

In pass protection, Parys Haralson (hurry and sack), Corey Lemonier (hurry) and Ahmad Brooks (hurry with an assist from some hands to the face) all got past him, while he failed on two occasions to execute cut blocks on stretch runs.

More is expected of the first overall pick.

Ok, someone needs to mock up that "Leave Britney alone!" gif.

Hey, if Fisher does that then I'll gladly get on board. Until then, I'm not going to just give him a pass for no reason.

I think he must be injured, but then him and the team are ****ing up by continuing to push him out there instead of letting him heal. He can work on drills without taking contact. That he just needs to toughen the **** up in which case I don't see that happening until after the year is over. I really doubt its going to get easier for him in that regard as the seasons starts and goes on.

Nice. I like it.

But if I'm the production exec and you show me an early cut of Phantom Menance, my first concern is not "Jake Lloyd is never going to be a good actor."

I'm more concerned about the veteran actors who sound like they're in a dental hygienist academy's production of Our Town.

It's not like he wasn't bad. He was. But I'm not calling the Fox brass together Monday morning and saying "hey guys. This Jake Lloyd kid. It's a major problem. Can we reshoot his stuff?"

They'd be looking at you like a ****ing idiot.

"Um... did you happen to hear the dialogue?"
"I'm not worried about the dialogue! George Lucas has a track record! I've seen that man shepherd great movies!"
"Dude... this meeting is seriously all about Jake Lloyd?"
"He was terrible!"
"Every part of that movie was terrible."
"But that doesn't mean he wasn't terrible!"
"Is this because you hate the casting director? And you're still pissed that they put in the whole midichlorian bullshit?"
"Pro Film Focus says that Jake Lloyd had the worst performance in history."
"I'm going to lunch now."

You know what should stop? People misusing the word "logic". When somebody says something they like, "logic" is used to prop it up, when often there's no logic at all in the post. In RunKC's post, all he's doing is delivering a plea for people to back off Fisher. There's nothing all that convincing about his post, nor was it really intended for that purpose.

Yet there's the word. LOGIC!

That's not ****ing logic.

I saw a similar thing posted SEVERAL times by posters like TEX and some other guys. In this exact same thread.

It's threads like these that split fans into two groups:

Group 1: fans that watch the NFL and not just the Chiefs and recognize what it takes to field a superbowl quality team

Group 2: fans that only care about the team being good enough to go 8-8 most of the time and occasionally make a first round playoff exit. They want a watchable "tv show" they can turn on while enjoying BBQ and beer.

I'm quite sure Reid let the entire Oline know that their performance last week was not good enough.

Yeah, and I would respond by saying this.

Its ****ing preseason, its the guys second ever professional game and it doesn't even count. Shut the **** up, and relax. Wait until we get to some games that count then panic.

Like I said. if goes out and is good/dominant against the steelers, then what are you whiny ****s going to ****ing say then?

Again. its preseason, and I wont be here pounding my chest telling you to eat crow over a preseason game.

Calm down sparky.

It looks like Fisher's feet are all ****ed up when he moves to block. He's quick stepping and allowing the rushers to blow by him. His struggles look to have nothing to do with his injured hand.

I thought that too. And that would make sense. A guy who was a dominant left tackle at a Mid Level D1 school making the transition to the pros struggling with his technique at the pro level is to be expected. he will get it figured out....

We're plenty relaxed.

Again, NOBODY is calling Eric Fisher a bust. Nobody cares that he ****ed up in his first two preseason games. All we care about is him not sucking during the regular season.

We're just calling it like we see it. Eric Fisher looked shitty in his preseason games. Fact. We're not trying to draw anything more out of it than that.

He's got a lot of work to do. Hope he's up to it.

That's all.

Albert is gonna be the scapegoat for Alex Myths propensity for taking sacks.

BEHIND THE BEST OFFENSIVE LINE IN FOOTBALL, ALEX SMYTH GOT SACKED 66 TIMES IN HIS LAST 600 PASS ATTEMPTS.

They are gonna dump Albert because Alex is gonna take a metric ton of sacks and replace him with Eric Fisher...who will struggle trying to adjust to left tackle after playing right tackle the previous year.

Mark it down.

It's GONNA happen.
