PFF: Poor game from Fisher

Yup. Very poor game.

I’m not in the business of making excuses for someone, but how bad is the hand of Eric Fisher (-4.5)? I ask because his performance was of such a level and he seemed to be favoring his hand so often, that the question had to be asked: are the Chiefs doing the right thing getting him game time as opposed to letting him heal?

He had to leave the field after Will Tukuafu got the better of him with 4:05 to go in the first and yet he would return to finish out the first half. That wasn’t the only time he struggled as Ray McDonald was too powerful for him at the point of attack on the opening drive, having no problem working on his inside shoulder and getting off his blocking attempts.

In pass protection, Parys Haralson (hurry and sack), Corey Lemonier (hurry) and Ahmad Brooks (hurry with an assist from some hands to the face) all got past him, while he failed on two occasions to execute cut blocks on stretch runs.

More is expected of the first overall pick.

Albert's pass protection is fine on this play. Not great, but fine.

The other one is a mistake.

Big deal. He's Branden Albert. Four sacks allowed in two years.

He's awesome.

Oops, I said Geno Smith.

I better run because a flock of homers are about to lecture me on how taking a quarterback in the first round isn't what this team does.

Fire up the BBQ and the true fan gif.
I believe if they had a trading partner at any pick they would of done it. even if it was nothing more than dropping down with the dolphins at taking just a second rounder to do it.

The Chiefs I believe were stuck with no one to trade with.

Albert was on skates in the first one, he's got to anchor better. Second one really wouldn't have been a huge deal had gray not got exploded and there been a pocket

...

I swear, most Chiefs fans would be ok with a member of this team sodomizing their wife or daughter...as long as it happens while they wear an Arrowhead while doing it.

The team could literally trade Charles and Bowe for second round picks and spend those picks on backup quality players and there would be FLOCKS of fans defending the moves.

Jake Lloyd sucks in this Star Wars movie!

Yeah, but Ewan McGregor is just as bad.

Um, dude. Ewan McGregor is a great actor. I'm sure his career will be fine.

I don't care! Give Jake Lloyd time!

It is going to be interesting to see who the super star from this draft is going to be.

I have my opinion.

Who do you see as a super star out of this draft class?

I was told all offseason that Albert would be fine in this offense that is more pass heavy and dependent on protection.

So far I don't think think he can be as good as he was last year with Andy Reid's more pass heavy offense. Not after seeing him struggle in those gif's and miss blitzers.

Fisher struggled, but you know what? So is the LT that everyone is saying is well above average.

Albert should concern you far more than Fisher. He's a 5th year vet who apparently is worth franchise money. This shit isn't supposed to be happening. He's supposed to be playing great out there.

Why would Albert concern us more than Fisher? Do explain.

Albert has 1 year left and Fisher is his replacement for the foreseeable future.

I just wish the haters could take a breathe. I wished after the Saints game that the homers would of taken a breathe.

I wish for once that people could just say it is, what it is. No one on the offensive side of the ball other than McCluster, Moeaki, and Davis really played that well. To single out anyone is really a waste.

That makes it so much better.

"Guys, guys, guys! It's not just Fisher... The whole entire offense sucked ass against backups. Just relax and enjoy the suck. The Chiefs will never face an opponent as stout as the 49er backups."

This was just a lazy play by Albert.

And that's not counting the blitz he completely forgot to pickup.
In that first one Albert had his guy handled. If Smith wasn't such a shitty QB there wouldn't have been any problem with Albert's protection. Plus Fisher ****ed up. He straight up got his ass kicked by a guy quite a bit smaller than him. That's pathetic.

In the second one Albert is actually basically looking at two rushers. He took the time to try to make sure they both didn't go running through by offing the inside to the guard, and then tried to push the other outside, but Smith is so far back already (why the **** is he dropping back so far all the time?) that it just pushes him into that while he's running away from Fisher's busted block (and the guy that pushed up the middle that the RB did an ok but not great job of picking up). Good design and execution by the 49ers and just poor play by the Chiefs line.

I'm not real concerned about Albert as he has established a pretty good resume. He looks like he might need some conditioning and work to get in game shape, but that's what preseason is for. Fisher just plain is getting his ass kicked. Its not even close, Fisher is absolutely very clearly much worse. I have no idea why you're trying to deflect Fisher's failures by acting like Albert is playing just as bad. He absolutely is not.
