Honestly, Pioli had to be in that room. Hunt could've gotten cornered and turned into a yammering buffoon had the wrong question been asked and he had no answer for it. With Pioli in the room, he can gracefully toss the question to the person that was responsible for the day to day operations. If Pioli isn't there, the conversation essentially halts on the subject and you have the interview equivalent of an awkward silence.

If Pioli is still in this organization, he has to be in that room. Period. Should Hunt have fired him outright and given those questions to Farmer? Perhaps, but that's not what happened.

If this is how Clark wants to do this, then Pioli has to be there to keep the interview going smoothly. The worst thing that could happen would be an awkward interview that causes them to lose Reid's interest and gets him on a plane to AZ without an offer.

I am not bashing him I agree with him that we should be patient and let the entire process work it self out. Clark said all of this should be done prior to the Combine so that is only about a month.

And you also say that not knowing what the deal is with Pioli or at what capacity he is going to be retained.

Fact is if Clark owes Pioli say $10MM if he cuts bait now so he puts him in the corner and hires Reid to run the team and its a success, yea people will bitch every time they hear Pioli's name but if the team wins and shows promise who gives a ****?

Is the goal to win the SB or do we get a trophy for Pioli getting fired too?

I want the ****er gone too but I am not going to make assumptions when I dont have all the info. I imagine more info will come out eventually.

People here talk like firing Pioli is no big thing, maybe its not but what I have seen and heard tells me it is a big issue or he would already be gone.This place is absolutely great at spending other people's $ though so why should that play a roll in anything now?
