With the beginning of a new year, it is time for the 2012 version of the Royals Repository Thread. We've got Hosmer, we've got a 2011-dominating Gordon, we've got Moose, we've got hopefully a killer bullpen, we've got a stereotypical slow slugging DH, we've got easily one of the best defensive shortstops in the AL, we've got a promising catcher in Salvador Perez. Hell, we've got offense and promising prospects galore.

We do not have starting pitching.

Oh yeah, we've also got this:

Get ready for, (as of January 2012 anyway), one of the most confusing puzzles of a baseball season in recent Royals history. Will they suck? Maybe, I don't know. Will we be given a year of 0.500 baseball? Possibly, I don't know. Will they win the division and go to the playoffs for the first time in 27 years? For the first time in a long time, it could happen, I don't know. 92 losses, 92 wins, or anything in between would not surprise a lot of us.

Everything goes here except Gameday threads and really big news. If a giant story breaks, the Royals achieve some awesome milestone, or we sign/lose a highly significant player/coach/mascot/whatever, then it might also deserve its own thread. This being Chiefs Planet, please do not clutter the board with new threads about trivial Royals news or you will only annoy those who come here for just Chiefs football. If you aren't sure and its not a Gameday thread, it goes here.

What sort of stuff often goes here? SPchief explained it well, so I'll just copy that:

Does the leadership for the Royals think this will placate the fans. We won't sign any new starting pitching, but by gawd this talking to the opposition on the diamond will stop right here and now. Jesus what a bunch of candy ass ****ers

I agree to an extent. Seems odd. However, let's be honest: the position players know that the starters are a joke and that the pen is overexposed. Thus, what are the players in the field supposed to do? Walk around continually pissed with a scowl because DM is shitty at his job?

Haha.

It is pro sports...competition. The sometimes lackadaisical nature of the game can be grating to me.

Agreed, esp when they suck balls really bad. Winning teams can yuck it up, but the royals should be pissed

Especially after the guy they are chatting with just crushed your pitcher and blew the game open. You could see this coming because a few days in a row Rex and Ryan were pointing it out and complaing, but that being said, it probably could have just been handled in house. My guess as to why they didn't was because they wanted fans to know that something was to be done since the criticism was so public.

Lets face facts, Glass has not and will not ever spend the money needed to field a good team. We hear Moore all the time say if we could find someone worth paying we would. Every other team can find people but we cant.

What we know for fact is that DM frivolously spends the money that he is allotted. Thus, if he had more money, I'm sure he'd find a way to create more problems for the team.

Probably should be a song about this concept; it might do well.

Bottom line: DM is a ****ing idiot as a GM. But, but, but. No buts. He sucks at his current job; this is fact.
