Eh, I've seen it play out several times. I've seen mods lock threads over drama like this, and it just creates more whining about not knowing the full story, etc... sure, it's not necessary for us to still be here talking about it, but it'll die down on its own regardless of what we do. I'd rather be transparent about it, and it's a slow day.

It's funny, I was going to ask you why you didn't use the ignore feature on Hootie instead of following him around to every thread waiting for him to trip up since you obviously hated his posts so much.

It's kind of hard to ignore him, since his name has been featured in about 5,000 posts today.

I like going to Buffalo Wild Wings a lot. One time I got really drunk and there was an embarrassing altercation with a bartender and a waitress. I got kicked out and told to never return.

A few months later, I called up the manager and told him that I really really liked their wings and beer and that I would do ANYTHING if he'd let me come back.

He talked it over with the General Manager and the bartender and they said that I could come back if I avoided the bartender and that waitress.

Turns out I couldn't help myself. I got into it with the bartender again. I got kicked out again. DAMN THAT GENERAL MANAGER!!!!
It's really not that hard to understand. It's your fault for banning the guy. You didn't have to do it. When you realized that the agreement you had with Hootie was ridiculous because it was leading to a ridiculous result (i.e. banning him over completely tame, by CP standards, interactions), you could have simply decided that it was too ridiculous to ban the guy. And if you didn't realize that the agreement was leading to a ridiculous result, that's your fault too.

The person who did that was humbled, owned the mistake, and imposed a ban upon himself. I've never seen anybody else own a mistake to that extreme. I'm still impressed by it to this day.

Same here. I'm sure Hootie's defense team - who seem to have absolutely no grasp of the facts here - will continue their candlelight vigil for another day or so, at least. I won't be missing much by turning in early.

No, but I would think the reasonable thing to do would be to look past Hootie responding if they started it.

It isn't as if Hootie instigated it post "short leash."

Same reason he confided in hootie, I guess. Evidently he feels the need to vomit his emotional baggage all over an internet forum. When badgirl does it, people pile on her. When CC does it, he's a martyr.
