Big 10 Report: Conference Realignment
A source in St. Louis familiar with the situation told NewsCenter 16 Thursday afternoon that Missouri will leave the Big XII and soon join the Big 10. Other schools expected to follow the Tigers are Syracuse, Pitt, Rutgers and Nebraska.

Many have speculated that such an expansion would include Notre Dame but ND athletic director Jack Swarbrick told me today that the Irish prefer to stay independent in football and in the Big East for other sports. Swarbrick said maintaining football Independence is such a part of what Notre Dame is.

He went on to say the Big East is a great partner for the University in other sports.

"We do have to monitor what is going on," Swarbrick said. "There will be significant shifts. "Hopefully we can navigate them by keeping our football independent and keeping our Big East affiliation because that is what we care about."

The move of Syracuse, Pitt and Rutgers to the Big Ten from the Big East could categorically change the landscape of the Big East itself. Thus, what Swarbrick is referring to when stating the University must continue to monitor what is going on.

The interview with Swarbrick was done before the late afternoon announcement.

Mizzou to the Big 10 - they gloated. ("venom" according to a noob) Everybody else cried about it.

Mizzou rejected by Big 10. Everybody pointed and laughed. Frazod seethed

UNL invited to Big 10. They were happy. Everybody else was too. Until the UNL admins took a few parting shots at the Mizzou and UTerus

The rest of the thread is "Everybody going everywhere, bit only if Michael Bishop doesn't fumble the ball away in the last 2 minutes of the 98 Big XII CCG". He fumbled.
Kansas has a brand. Laz is pissy. billay is trying to figure out how many channels are on the Big 10 Network, the Mountain West is likely spot for KSU but only if the flightaware.com flight tracker can be posted more than 5 times in the space of 12 posts.
DJ's Left Nut became cancerous after hearing Alden and Deaton let the Big 10 fish spit the hook at the bank and frazod has made me laugh over and over, Teechubbya feels sorry for us all and ****ing Buehler wants a ****ing recap on a 6k post thread.

bottomline:

Big 12 is about to implode

Mizzou started talking to the Big 10 about joining them

Nebraska heard about that and went to the Big 10 and basically took MU's spot. ****ed Mizzou over.

Colorado saw the writing on the wall and bolted for the Pac-10

most of teh Big 12 south rumored to be heading towards the Pac-10

Texas A&M rumored to prefer the SEC instead, leaving Pac-10 spot open

Utah and KU rumored to be in line for that open Pac-10 spot

after that the rest of the Big-12 has been rumored to go to the Big East or the MWC.
