****Official 2010 ChiefsPlanet Mock Draft Thread****

Welcome to the 2010 ChiefsPlanet Mock Draft.

We have some new owners this year, so here's a quick run-down on the rules.

Each team will have 24 hours from the timestamp of the previous pick to make their selection. If your pick is not made within 24 hours, the next owner is free to make their selection.

The draft order is now final, with the exception of possible compensatory picks. As in past years, if the NFL announces an official list of compensatory picks BEFORE we finish the 3rd round, I'll add them in. If not, the draft order currently listed will remain. Any trades made in real life will NOT change the mock order from this moment on - personally, it's just too much work, and you run the risk of a pick being traded in real life after it's been made here in the mock.

If you think there is any chance you'll miss your pick, please try to send me a PM with a prioritized list of players - I'll select the highest priority player available from your list to keep things moving.

Please try to check in at least once a day, if not several times daily. We've never had an issue finishing 7 rounds in 6 weeks and I don't expect to have a problem this year - but it's up to you guys as owners to stay current.

When making your selection, please post the name, position and school of the player (follow Hamas' lead, he knows the drill - the correct format helps greatly when updating the header) and give a quick blurb about why you selected that particular player. Doesn't have to be a novel.

I'll be in class from 11:00 - 2:00, but I'll log back in to put Hamas on the clock at Noon.

FWIW, drafttek is all needs based drafting, and its metric is a bit effed up, IMO.

However, the draftsite link has him taken by a 3-4 team with the last supplemental of the 4th round.

If you'd like. someone posted a link on how to make your own 7 round mock with draft tek about 3 weeks ago. You might find it worth looking up for shits.

I definitely don't see lane going to a 3-4 team. His strength is his first step and the speed rush. I don't think he could play standing up either. The guy I really liked there is Jason Worilds, but I don't think he is strong enough to play the end in a 4-3. I think he'll be a good rush backer in a 3-4 though.

Williams at 12 isn't really value and the other Williams at 43 is par. JMO.

With the 82nd pick in the third round of the 2010 NFL draft the Pittsburgh Steelers select:

Torrell Troup NT Central Florida

While I think that Casey has a little gas left in the tank, I cant say the same for his backup Chris Hoke and it is a good time to groom a future starter for the position. I had my eye on a couple other prospects here, but I felt they would have a greater chance at being there at our next pick than Troup.

While there are likely to be a couple choices here that can fill a need, I know one thing...and thats that speed kills. The Falcons have a set of good starting receivers and a great possession receiver type in Tony G to take a lot of underneath attention. I think this guy could create HUGE matchup problems to opposing defenses and is a good special teamer as well.

With the 83rd pick in the 2010 NFL draft the Atlanta Falcons select

This selection is a toy for the Bengals offense. They need playmakers, and this guy is one. They can use him in the slot as he is a good route runner, or he can line up in the backfield on third downs and get some carries. The Bengals have been missing a home run threat, and they get one here in the third round. The Bengals select Dexter McCluster, RB/WR, Mississipi.

His speed score was the 8th worst in the last 11 years. Every other player with a worse score went undrafted, and the only one to even stick in the league was Aaron Stecker.

He's a huge risk, because for his size he should be much faster. I think he goes a lot lower than people on here expect.

Could be right. Of course, I don't agree, but I think he'll mainly play the slot. He has about the same speed as Gilyard, who you called the next DeSean Jackson.
