Tamba Hali looks just like DT

With all the misery and aggravation we are suffering (again) as a Chiefs fan, one of the bright spots for me has been the transformation of Tamba Hali. When I see his quick move and bull rush with the big underarm movement getting around the corner just like DT used to do, it's one little bit of positive in a year of too many negatives. Hopefully next year he will only get better.

B.T.W. If I have to listen to one more Haley press conference after a bad loss starting out "I'm disappointed" and then every Friday before the game he talks about the greatest practice EVER, I'm going to puke! Be a man Todd and tell everyone the truth...you're PISSED OFF , THE TEAM SUCKED TODAY, AND TOO MANY PLAYERS DON'T KNOW HOW TO MAKE A PLAY LIKE A PRO DOES. The Denver loss was sickening on so many levels.

I could live with this team having Hali at OLB on one side, but Id like to see the Chiefs have a dominant passrusher at OLB on the other side.

And because of that, I don't think he'll ever develop into an elite, or dominating passrusher.

If teams are lining up their TE's, or RB's against him then that speaks high volumes of what opposing teams think about him. I don't think he possesses the speed to be an elite passrusher. DT had the speed, and his timing off the snap was unreal. Hali doesn't have those same attributes. In fact, its not even close.

The Cards blocked Jared Allen last night sometimes one on one with a tight end.

Tamba doesn't compare to Thomas as a pass rusher but he's better than "very average" by a long shot. I'm not sure why people on this board are down on Tamba. He beat Clady yesterday for two of his three sacks, and according to most people Clady is Anthony Munoz reincarnated.

If we had a true nose to push the pocket Tamba would be sitting on 10 sacks right now.

Colquitt is our best player, followed by Succop. I wish that was a joke.

There are few players like DT or Lawrence "I love crack" Taylor but Hali's transformation has been pretty impressive. Maybe I'm just so disappointed this season that a little positive nugget looks like a boulder to me....

Hali has become somewhat solid, and made 2 plays I enjoyed using that DT chop at the ball. that is the closest resemblance. He's not even the same caliber or class.

Imagine how good this defense would be if we still had Allen on one end and Hali playing at this level on the other.

I used to think the Allen trade would ultimately pay off, but it becomes clearer each week that it's the most damaging move to the long-term success of this team since... I dunno, keeping Grbac?

Dammit Carl!

That's about it.

It's pretty sad to think Hali might be our best player, actually.

DT wasn't exactly a run stopper. Teams ran at him.

I'm not gonna make any DT comparisons but Hali has made a lot of game changing type of plays this year. It's to bad we haven't been able to take advantage of more of them. 3.5 more sacks and he'll have 10 for the season. That's a few better then I thought he get going into the season. Good for him

I doubt Hali could handle LOLB on anything but third downs. You think he's bad against the run now? Wait until he's got a tight end doubling him on run downs.

One little note-Tamba Hali doesn't have Neil Smith and Dan Saleamua helping at all....
