Is everyone expecting Moore to be bad or something? I don't get why moving him would even be an option if he played well this year. Why **** with something that's working on a position you've been having trouble with?

Just keep Simmons at RT in that scenario and enjoy the next 10 years of stable line play

Simmons is not a RT, that's why. Moore has experience at both tackle spots. If Simmons is ready and if Taylor continues to struggle, move Moore over to RT.

....why isn't he an RT? Did he not play that position at SDSU? And let's pretend he didn't, you're going to move a player that's playing well at LT to try Simmons out right there? Why? And I'm guessing you're ignoring everybody telling you Moore wasn't good at RT huh?

We have 2 years of Moore, we have 5 years of Simmons. I would say we would move Moore to RT as we are planning the rest of Mahomes career around Simmons being his LT. If Moore moves to RT and balls out, we can extend him. If he is average we have the option of looking at another vet RT or first rounder in 2027

2025: Moore LT + Taylor RT, potentially see Simmons LT + Moore RT
2026: Simmons LT + Moore RT
2027: Simmons LT + ? RT
2028: Simmons LT + ? RT
2029: Simmons LT + ? RT

So we're just assuming Moore will be bad at LT. Got it.

If Josh Simmons is healthy and the guy he was before injury, a competition won’t be close. He’ll easily win it.

There’s a reason Simmons would have been a top 10 pick. He’s legitimately good at everything.

A top 10 pick vs a day 3 pick with limited experience.

Yeah so then put Simmons at RT and keep Moore who is playing well at LT and dominate. Why do you have to put Moore in a position he isn't good at if he's playing well at LT?

It is a possibility but then Simmons is anchoring and pushing off that left leg with the petalar.

I'm not a fan of Juwan Taylor but he is our RT for now. He's fine minus the penalties. Well, fine enough.

I think what happens is Moore is our left tackle until Simmons beats him out then Moore is our backup left tackle.

Keep in mind Moore sucks at right tackle and is a career backup so that seems like his role. If Simmons can't beat him out, then Simmons is our backup left tackle.

Re: positional flexibility

The thing I will say I like most about this pick (other than the upside, which is something to dream upon) is the options KC has created here.

If Jaylon Moore is really good at LT, Suamataia is really good at LG, and Simmons is healthy and ready to go at RT, that could be the best alignment.

Or, if Simmons forces his way onto the field, your left guard becomes who is better between Moore and Suamataia and (queue laugh track) Caliendo. You've created competition and some redundancy at LT, LG, and RT.

That's a good thing.

If Simmons is healthy and ready to go at LT. I like the idea of Moore and Kingsley battling it out at LG.

I'm not really sure why we're just assuming he can play guard but I admit I'm unsure if he ever has.
