So yeah. He has experience at the position. He CAN play there. But it was a huge ****ing mess when he did it.

I'll bet Reid would also say of Eric Fisher back in the day that yes, he can play both right and left tackle. But are you sure you want that? We just get the left side of our line super solid and all of a sudden we're dealing with another goddamn albatross this time on the right side that makes Mahomes play like Alex?

He probably wants to go play in New York because it's soooooo glamorous to play for the Giants or Jets these days!

I get the mindset. A guy like Simmons doesn't fall to 32, it just doesn't happen without the injury. So you buy a Powerball ticket and cross your fingers. If it fails, well it was probably going to anyway. But if it works, woo boy. Watch out NFL.

This time last year we were feeling pretty good about the LT position. We drafted a talented but green Kindsley S. and had a serviceable Wanya Morris on the roster. How it all unfolded as the season went on was fringe nightmare material. We were still winning a ton of games thanks to an outstanding team effort, 15-1. But the dam broke fast and hard during the Super Bowl.

This year we don't have an All-Pro LG but the LT position has been beefed up in a big way. Mahomes will still be under heat but we shouldn't see him get crushed week in and out at the same rate we saw last year. It will also help the pressure of the three-peat is off. It's all business this season.

The greatest dynasty in the history of the NFL is still on the table.

Moore was also a bag of smashed assholes at RT in SF.

If Moore is a stud, it'll be Simmons moving to RT - at least for the short term. Simmons played at RT at SDSU. Maybe we let Moore walk after that and slide Simmons back over to LT with a new guy at RT in 2027, but I just don't see it making much sense to move Moore over to RT at all. He's never done it worth a damn and if he performs at LT in 2025, it makes no sense at all to move him across in 2026.

If Simmons is healthy and ready to play at some in 2025 and they like him best at LT, AND Moore is playing well, then the question becomes, to me, if Simmons-Moore is your best left side, or if Simmons-Suamataia is better.

That’s kinda what I was getting at. Zero reason for either Moore or the Chiefs to move him to RT if he’s a stud as a LT.

I'm just glad we have what looks to be some decent depth at LT after the last couple of years. I have no problem bringing Simmons along slowly with Moore starting at LT. If Simmons wins the starting job then I would make Moore the swing T and wouldn't trade him next year unless it was for a haul. I'd like to keep Mahomes secure by keeping two guys who can start and protect his backside. We have Taylor for two more years and I wouldn't be looking to ditch him either. Depth and continuity for the next couple of years is what we and Mahomes needs. Hopefully whoever plays LG isn't a huge drop off from Thuney and our O Line kicks ass this year.

Exactly, adding Simmons means we now have some depth at the Tackle position, helping to avoid potentially another Buccaneer SB fiasco. It seems the Chiefs can never have too many good OL especially Tackles, also having these competent players creates competition. I wonder if DJ Humphries would come back for cheap?

We need a RT next year. Can Moore slide over there?

I like Q39. They have great BBQ. Myself I'm heading to the gas station and getting me some brisket and Z-man. But, Q39 is a great place to get some Q done right.

If you manage to beat the odds once and have Simmons come back as a strong LT, you're gonna be hard pressed to beat the odds again and have Moore -- who's played poorly every time it's been tried at RT -- suddenly find his footing over there.

I think there's some dreamcasting in there.

I'm concerned we are going to have to sacrifice a high pick in next years draft to get a legit RT. Or pay top $ in FA.

I thought Morris looked good at RT in his limited reps. Why don't they give him a shot?
