When I played Junior College basketball a friend pranked me and acted like he was an Assistant Coach from Louisville.

I mean, it happens.

40 years ago this was happening.

Miami players prank called Bosworth in his hotel room the night before they played Oklahoma.

I’ll be honest I’m pretty shocked he didn’t go in the first. He’s not without warts, but he showed as much as anyone else IMO.

Total speculation but I think it’s fairly obvious nobody wanted to sign him up for a guaranteed spot.

Normally dudes sign on for the shit because they think they’ll fix the kid. Hell a couple years ago a dude that caused a fatality in an illegal racing crash and fled the scene got drafted in the first round. But not with this one.

Indeed.

Auburn, with two starters already limping on damaged knees, lost its star player to the greed of some unscrupulousagent. The Tigers’ Chris Porter, one of the SEC’s marquee superstars, was suspended and sent home to Auburn late Saturday. So as far as Sunday’s big game was concerned, there was more mystery about the direction of today’s sunrise.

Florida blew out the short-handed Tigers by 29 points in a yawner that no doubt had CBS viewers channel surfing and sent streams of fans out of the building long before the final horn. When it ended and the Gators had protected their slim lead in the SEC, the O’Connell Center had huge splotches of empty seats, reminiscent of Gators basketball before Billy Donovan revived the hoops pulse hereabouts.

I agree, it’s not right.

But it’s also true that the outrage has not been equal since other players similarly received prank calls.

No one is disputing that it’s terrible regardless whom it happens to or when.

But can you at least understand how the light is shining a little brighter on it because this guy just had the biggest and most well-publicized fall in NFL draft history and received a prank call in the middle of it?

That's a football culture thing. It's been that way forever too. Oh Jalen Carter is involved is vehicular homicide..but since he's not going to jail and his teammates like him we cool. For years and years Terrell Owens was thought of as a cancer..had no off field issues...but guys who did heinous shit were "team guys"

That and some teams flat don't care, the Ravens have a kicker accused of like 16 sexual assaults and draft a kicker... yet then draft Mike Green like what?

As far as Sanders goes, he isn't some generational prospect. He actually reminds me a lot of Kirk Cousins. Average arm, fast processor, can maneuver a pocket but isn't fast. Good touch, good anticipation and his best trait, toughness. Sanders took so many hits and just gets back up every time.

He's system limited and the media that comes with him turns some teams off. His upside is QB 8-13. In round 5 great pick but that probably doesn't win any SBs unless you build the legion of boom.

I haven't followed this story too closely, but after reading a description of his interview with the Giants, I would not have spent a first or second on him if I were the Giants.

That sounded like more than warts. That sounds like a cancer.

At some point, sure take a chance like the Browns did on somebody you could actually cut.

It was initially part of an inaccurate narrative that Fraudeur was being uniquely targeted or there was some sinister “conspiracy” against him… his drop in the draft and then the prank calls.

Hopefully calmer heads can prevail since now it is discovered many players received prank calls.
