After time to digest and process, some thoughts on Simmons. There had to be concerns about being able to retain information. Everyone has mentioned that they rechecked him on multiple visits and zoom calls to test his recollection. That and his colored hair and nose ring had to be the “character concerns” that’s have been brought up by randoms. He even mentioned in his interview “they don’t let just anyone come here”…indicating that was expressed to him specifically.
I have full confidence that Andy/Brett designed a comprehensive plan after identifying the red flags they saw in the kid and will stay on top of it to give us the best chance of him reaching his potential. |

Hell that's actually a bit of a red flag but it seems like people here are working OT on a whole different narrative for some reason. Its almost like they didn't like the idea before hand so torpedoes be damned, we are moving forward with the narrative at all cost. One side or the other is way off, going to be interesting to see which one. |

His injury can't be worse than my babysitter's when I was a really little kid, so rejoice!
It was summertime and she brought over squirt guns for something fun later to do. We had a water gun fight in the backyard, but somehow it started up again as we were going back inside the house, which was a ranch style where you could go around in circles between 4 of the rooms, including the kitchen. My older sister and I were teamed up against the babysitter, chasing her in circles. Over time water started accumulating on a few spots in the kitchen, that had linoleum floors. At some point she was running into the kitchen, hit a wet spot, slipped, and slid into the dishwasher and counter. In a freak accident, she caught some sharp metal or something and due to her momentum it made a wide U shaped cut along the side of her knee. We heard a frightening shriek, came into the kitchen, and saw blood pooling on the floor and her hysteric, holding her knee awkwardly from the side on top. She said it had broken off and flapping to the side. The rest was a crazy blur and I remember sitting at the hospital for a couple hours, then my parents showing up to get us, and never seeing that babysitter again.

I just can't get over the cognitive dissonance.
Like, Veach and Reid just seem really nonchalant about the injury. The history of this injury is grim. And they're all like..."yeah, he'll be ready for training camp." Ohhhhhhkaaaaay. I'm gonna assume you guys know what you're doing, because you usually do. |

Pete Prisco on CBS loved the pick and called it a torn meniscus.....what an idiot
I wonder if they put the anchors in the kneecap? a double graft consists of one in the knee cap and one in the tibia if Im reading it right Tough situation Last edited by poolboy; Today at 01:13 PM.. |

Thinking about this more.
The rest of the draft makes me feel significantly better about this pick. We didn’t entirely miss out on RB (ours may be limited but he has the burst I wanted). We didn’t miss out on a Tranquil replacement (maybe even this year if he regresses further). We added 2 bodies to the DL. We got our WR at a tremendous value. We got another CB (not a guy most of us had on the radar but a good value regardless). I didn’t love a RB in the first round with the depth of this class so I’m okay passing on Henderson. I wanted Burden but I like Royals a lot and I wouldn’t necessarily be happier with Burden and a project OT in the 4th. Another DL would’ve been alright, but were we realistically going to do much better than ONL and Gillotte? I still don’t feel great about this pick, but I’m having a tough time answering “if not Simmons, then who?” with how the rest of the draft ended up.
