*****2025 NFL DRAFT THREAD - NO SPOILERS*****

Version 2025 - PATRICK MAHOMES & THE RETURN TO GLORY

Let's ****ing do this.

Quote:
Rules for once the draft begins:
  1. No spoiled picks in this thread, all weekend. This means that as tweets are leaking picks a few minutes before the selection is announced live, you don't post it in this thread (ex: embedded tweets), reference it in this thread (ex: Joe Slapdick says it's So and So to Green Bay) or hint at it (ex: "it's a RB!") or asking "questions" after the news is already out to make it seem like you're a genius guesser (ex: "Vegas gonna take player here?").
  2. Don't be a dick.
Otherwise, have fun, talk shit, freak out and lose your goddamned minds. It's Draft Weekend. The hot takes in these threads are so funny.

Quote:
NOTE: Like in year's past, I will be starting player threads for each of our picks as they are made, with videos and notable stats/takes in the OP.
These separate player threads will be made as soon as the news breaks, but outside of this thread. This means if you are in the lounge, you may see the player prior to the TV announcement.
I will also link the player threads below, shortly after they are drafted. Pure knee-jerk gold to reference in the future.

Here are our picks:

Round 1, #28: Josh Simmons
Round 2, #63: Omar Norman-Lott
Round 3, #66: Ashton Gillotte
Round 3, #85: Nohl Williams
Round 4, #133: Jalen Royals
Round 5, #156: Jeffrey Bassa
Round 7, #228: Brashard Smith

Here is a list of the prospects the Chiefs have shown interest in this year.

Here are our prior years' Draft Threads:

I don’t see Martinez filling the need for speed at RB.

He was a physical runner at Miami last season… but didn’t show an explosive burst.

Which doesn't matter.

If you are running the ball with the intent to get the most EPA then you are doing it wrong. You run the ball to move the chain. In the redzone. To soften up the defense.

Do I care if our YPC is low yet we had the BEST short yardage back in football? I do not.

They may get a Pacheco like player but I really wanted them to get a strong back with speed and plus receiving ability.

Brashard Smith is the only one left I really give that much of a damn about. Martinez is fine as well.

Pretty massive drop off after that. I just can't convince myself that Neal would matter a single bit. He's not going to do anything Pacheco can't. And less than a healthy Mitchell would.

So gimme Smith's explosion.

That's the Smith I was referring to. Definitely would get excited about him.

We're gonna have to pass on royals to do that though.

Or draft one even higher, which I'd have really hated.

No problem with how they've handled days 2 and 3 at all.

Stop. Looking. At. YPC.

Hunt terrible YPC. And it didn't matter. He helped us score sooo many more points than we would not have had if we had a high YPC guy who either gets 9 or gets stuffed.

Yeah I'm all in on Smith at this point.

If Clark is as big a SMU fan as I think he is, I hope he's sent a text to Veach to "see how things are going"

One of the worst takes I have ever seen on this site and that's saying something. It's bad even for BWillie.

I'd take 2 RBs with those 7ths if they aren't going to trade up
