Burden isn't on my radar. In my world, he gone.

But if he's there in the mid 40s, I'd absolutely be banging on the table to trade up. Not sure how high 63 and 66 gets us, but that's gotta be in the low 40s.

I’ve wondered about that too. The problem is who to replace him with unless the next pick is a high level IOL.

Nobody is trading a 2nd rounder for a Guard, much less one that has a big cap hit today and needs a new big deal.

This year needs to be about offense. Load up heavy on lots of OL. Get a RB, preferably a speed demon. Maybe get a TE.

Guard would be a huge get. We need competition for Kingsley. But keep in mind that a Guard might also help us avoid paying huge money to Trey. Which id rather not for a guard. Even better if we can do this at RT too though that’s a harder ask. These are exactly the spots where teams can find great players at these skill positions

If you package 63 & 66, you can probably get as high as CLE pick at 36 or LV at 37....according to the Draft Value Calculator. Would not be opposed to that at all.

Yeah, I'm not locked in an a guy. There's a number of options there and perhaps we just make a small trade up to the one that falls the furthest. I wouldn't be pissy with that. We have legal and injury issues with our best WR and the year after we have almost no one under contract at HB or WR.

We added a mid round pick yesterday which was a gift. Hopefully over the next two days we can add 2 or 3 guys that can contribute big plays to this offense like we did in 22 for the defense. We need it.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

I'd have less justification of being a pissy little schoolgirl about all this, that's for sure.

Then I suppose the true 'trade' would be who we could get with 63 and 66 vs Simmons (Because Burden is who I'd have taken at 31).

And if it turns out that we'd be looking at a board with, say, Williams and Ersery at the top of it...well, I wouldn't have much grounds for complaint at that point. Giving up Williams would be worth the 'trade-off' to get the upside of Simmons over Ersery.

Ultimately the 2nd round is always a bit of a shitshow. There's just no way to really predict what may happen at the moment.

Don't think that will be far enough and while I was pounding the table hard for Burden last night, I would not make that move. They need to keep the picks that they've got.

I wouldn't put it past them.

Lack of high end IOL in the draft. Chiefs probably don't want to spend what he costs.

If you can trade him for a top 50 pick, it means they probably use a top 100 pick on a guy like Milnum and call it a day. Makes a ton of sense honestly.

Either a quality DL. If the 2nd round DT's and DE's are gone, then go for BPA at RB, WR or TE though I think we can wait until the early 3rd on those offensive guys. I wasn't on the Burden train for R1 but if someone like that falls to mid 2nd round, hell ya, trade up.

Isn't that partly a coaching preference though?

It's the way they want them to play. I'm no Lombardi but they knew how he played and preferred to play when they signed him. We knew how Brown played and tried to square peg a round hole. We seem to do that a lot.
