***Official NCAA Tournament Thread***

Seeing as Bearcat banned me from the KU basketball thread for daring to use statistics to dispel the constant trashing of the team’s best player this year by far, I’ll need somewhere to put my thoughts for this year’s tournament.

In sum, the committee screwed KU again. Their resume (and wins) should have had them at at least a 6 seed and maybe even a 5. Arkansas is also the toughest matchup they could have had among possible opponents and KU matches up horribly against them (stay tuned as to why).

As far as the rest of the tournament goes, I’m picking Houston to win it all and Kentucky (fraud) to lose in the first or second round.

I was there tonight. So much fun. What a great night of college basketball.

The Houston comeback was just incredible and electric. People were losing their minds.

What a horrible loss for Duke.

Florida could make it 3 national titles in the last 2 decades.

Kind of a quiet yet good basketball program

Just going to toss this out there for those who were crowning Duke as the certain champions.....

This is why they go ahead and play them all.

Not really. We just had a tournament that was historically chalk. Whether or not that is the norm to come with NIL/portal remains TBD. But this Final Four has the potential, assuming Monday night isn’t a blowout, to be one of the best Final Fours we’ve had overall from the 2 semi games to the title.

The team that beat Duke went from being a mid-major to a back-to-back Big 12 champions

The only things that need to change with NIL is to make it more transparent and actual contracts with the school. Portal should open after the natty and crackdown on tampering in season.

Not remotely the same. Marlins haven’t done anything of note aside from those 2 years. Meanwhile, Florida went to multiple Final Fours and second weekends.

I skipped through much of the Duke/Houston game because it was past bedtime and I was just waiting to see if Houston would make it a game... holy shit, that was an incredible ending. And it's not even like Houston was perfect down the stretch, they made a couple mistakes and Duke still choked it away.

Florida/Auburn was interesting in that it had to be some of the dumbest shot selection I've seen across the board in a game before, but still highly entertaining and that's obviously what teams do these days... I think at ~13-12 early in the game, Florida dude just chucked an off balance Caitlin Clark type shot from way beyond the 3 point line like there was 5 seconds left in the game, yet some of those (not that one) were actually going down.

What a game! Held Duke to just 67 points. Had seats about 10 rows behind UH bench. They never quit. Sampson preaching that at every T.O. down the stretch. "MAKE PLAYS!", "D-UP!", "BELEIVE IN YOUR CULTURE!" Etc...
Team is all HEART!

Go COOGS!
