I was looking at some new small cap fund last week and thought whoa, this has killed it! Then I realized it's the covid lows. If you need any screenshots that make you look like an investing genius do it now

I track my net worth closely, and I've backtracked to August 7th of last year on my totals.

I think the real pain will start when companies start tanking their earnings guidance on their Q1 earnings calls because....they're not stupid.

Then prices will really show weakness. Then momentum.

It will get really ugly if China in particular decides they want to **** with Apple or Nvidia. They could crater them hard and that would crater...us...all of us. Hard.

This is a GREAT time to buy if you have cash available.

All of the best companies aren’t going anywhere. 5 years from now you’ll be glad you bought on this dip the same way you were glad you bought during covid and in 2022.

I'm usually a strong advocate for buying the dip, but not this time. I see this getting worse for a while, and maybe a long while.

I've got enough cash to hunker down for a while. I'm retired, so I'm not bringing in income to dollar-cost average, other than a little summer money that I'll put into a Roth for the tax advantages. I'm not putting that cash at risk in this environment.

People who are still working should probably keep putting money in to dollar cost average, but I bet you're going to feel sad for a while about doing it.

I just upped my contributions to another 5% since I got about a minimum of 20 more years to go.

So either it'll net a nice return at some point in the future, or our economy will be in the shitter where babes, booze, and bullets will be the currency of the future.
