Seeing as Bearcat banned me from the KU basketball thread for daring to use statistics to dispel the constant trashing of the team’s best player this year by far, I’ll need somewhere to put my thoughts for this year’s tournament.

In sum, the committee screwed KU again. Their resume (and wins) should have had them at at least a 6 seed and maybe even a 5. Arkansas is also the toughest matchup they could have had among possible opponents and KU matches up horribly against them (stay tuned as to why).

As far as the rest of the tournament goes, I’m picking Houston to win it all and Kentucky (fraud) to lose in the first or second round.

None of these teams have made them even uncomfortable on the court. I think Houston could still do that but the talent discrepancy there is still massive.

This is probably the most talented college team since that Kentucky KAT/Booker/Lyles/Harrisons/WCS team that blew it to Wisconsin while going undefeated all season.

If Auburn stays hot from 3 they have a chance but yeah they probably will win it all.

That team also had Cam Reddish and Tre Jones.

That Duke team had more depth than this one did, IMO.

But that’s the most talented team before this Duke team since 38-1.

Duke is puke but I don't see anybody beating them in this tournament. In fact there was probably no reason to even have the tournament.

No one saw Villanova beating Georgetown...

I say there is no unbeatable team in March Madness

I believe that Florida can take down Duke for all you naysayers who want to just go ahead and place the crown on Duke's head.

Can Reddish and Tre Jones don’t make up for Duke’s crazy level of top-end talent.

Also, in terms of performance, there’s not much comparison. They are the highest rated team by KenPom since 2015 UK and they sort of blow that team out of the water in efficiency rating too. If they win two more games, they’re the best NCAAB team in the KenPom era.
