Trade whatever possible for a LT prospect

I don’t care. If there’s a LT in this draft that they feel can be a good quality LT, do it.

I don’t care if it would cost three 1st rd picks. Mahomes is not gonna be this athletic for much longer.

It needs to happen

Then gimme a 4.4 or better back with hands at #2, none of this 220 dudes running a 4.5 at best who can't get outside vs NFL defenses... we need triples and homeruns, consistent 30-60 yarders

We need greasy fast speed at RB, its time to spend big on a Henderson type

I wouldn’t say there’s a zero percent chance on any player in this draft, unless you’re talking about QB.

They really can go with the guy they have rated as the best guy on their board.

There are scenarios where it gets to 31, and there is not a DL available there who is separated from several other players at his position.

The best way to approach it is to draft based on who the best guy on the board is, this year. That might be an OT. Or a RB. Or a WR. Or a DL. Or a CB.

There are multiple backs like the one you’re describing, and you don’t have to take one in the second round.
Suspect you would like Bhashul Tuten just as much as Henderson.

Or if they trade down with anyone else in the late 1st.

I'm not seeing Milroe but I could see him being used as a smokescreen to get their hands on Dart.

I don't think it's a wise pick but man, if you need a QB (and they do) you've gotta take some swings. Dart has some NFL skills -- the rest is just how well he develops.

It's a defensible decision.
From our perspective.... how do we pull off a ten spot jump up in the first? It'd have to be done with sacrificing future draft picks, right? Because we just don't have the ammo in picks to move up significantly this year, I'm assuming. Considering that, what would be the compensation in '26 picks for us to pull this off?

Next year's 2 might get you close.

Then maybe a pick swap of our 2 for their 3rd round pick at 83 and maybe a 6th (pick 185)?

So we give:

31
63
2026 2nd

We get

20
83
185

And to be clear, I'm not even sure I'd do that. I don't know that I have any desperate desire to move up to 21. I'm just saying that I could see a world where that sort of maneuver is on the table. We have the Titans pick to mitigate moving down from 63 to 83 and we'd also get that pick in the 6th to close up that gap we have on day 3 a bit.

I could see it being somewhat appealing for Veach and it's within spitting distance of a 'fair' deal either direction.

Where I could see them taking pause, however, is that 10 more picks is a long way to go backwards. The Rams sitting at 26 might be interested in a QB. Or if the Browns, Giants, Titans or Raiders don't go QB in the 1st, they may see the Buffalo or Washington picks as worth moving up for if they like Dart.

It would be a pretty huge gamble on their part if they really want Dart. If I'm in their shoes, I might just stay put.

Or we just speaking generally, like if it's another McDuffie situation and a player that Veach loves fell a bit further than anticipated.

That's exactly what I'm doing.

I have no 'must have' guy that would be sitting there in mind. But lets say James Pearce is sliding and we're confident that the character issues are overblown. Maybe Walter Nolen or Kelvin Banks. Maybe they fall in love with Egbuka and he's there.

It would have to be a McDuffie scenario, yes. Where they see 14 guys with true '1st round' grades in this draft at by 20 there's still one of those guys left so they get on the horn.

It begs the question...if this particular year is heavy on DL talent...some that would be drafted in round 1 in other years, do you attempt to flip next years 1st to move up in the 2nd?

KC will always be selecting in the bottom 20% for the foreseeable future.

In the end, the draft order is a bit arbitrary once you get past the first 15 or so...nobody cares where someone was drafted if they actually contribute.

This is the first time in a week I've got to really read anything here. So the rumor that the combine arm length measurements are all off? It would make a ton of sense and change the board ( the board in my head is about 3 weeks old and completely outdated rn). Has there been any pro day measurements prove the combine wrong yet or just speculation?

This isn't a terrible idea if they're really looking to reload that unit and get some bodies in there who can develop together on their rookie deals. They really haven't built a true d-line this entire run, it's been mostly JAGs around CJ unless you want to count Frank Clark's 2 good games per season. I'd love to see a serious commitment to building in the trenches on D. With our secondary and LBs, a great d-line could really take this defense to another level that would be borderline scary.

Depending on how everything shakes out, the Chiefs have a really good opportunity to be significantly better in 2026 at almost every key position as a defending AFC Champion. That is mind boggling to think about and rarely occurs.

We've band aided the DL outside CJ95. Part of me thinks while other teams take DL we will take what slides because of it. I know Jones is getting old and all but.. were in a dynastic run. Take the top guy on your board. I think it was DJ who pointed out last week that when Jones was out we completely changed the rush plan and looked fine. Post CJ may just be JAG DT's and ends that get pressure.

I don’t know if I’d give up a future first to get to the early second.

I’d hate to see that happen and then have a devastating injury year where that pick somehow ends up top half of the first.

I could see us trade 63 and 66 to someone in the earlier second to get a late 4th or early 5th back. It’d have to be someone they can’t believe is there though. Otherwise, I’d stay patient.

No way would I do that. There's just too much talent that's gonna fall to 31, especially in the defensive side. I just don't think they need another tackle THAT badly.

Huh? If you're talking DT only then yeah, but they've spent two first round picks back to back on Karlaftis and FAU and given some pretty sizable contracts to Omenihu and Danna.
