Must Watch Series

All this talk about series, how network TV Sucks, and how hard it is to find quality shows, and some excellent shows that fly under the radar, I need a comprehensive review of all the series I need to see.

For good entertainment, I would be willing to buy DVD sets. But I've recently picked up HBOGO by kiping it from my parents, and recently got Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Here is a listing of shows that I currently own or have seen all the episodes of. If it isn't on the list, just assume I haven't seen it.

Spoiler!

Here is a listing of shows on my list to watch (mostly due to this thread)
Spoiler!

I work a ****ton, so it is hard for me catch a series while it is on to get it on the DVR, but I recognize the entertainment value and am willing to go after the Must See shows. Accordingly, I'm not necessarily looking for anything that is still running. I'm up for watching stuff that has run its course.

So what say you, Planet? Which shows should I see?

UPDATED for the shows I've seen recently.

To make a long story short, there's basically 4 factions at the time of the show - Wessex, Mercia, and East Anglia are Saxon. Of course, the Vikings are Dane and Norse. Then you have two related but distinct factions in the Celts. The Gaelic Celts inhabited Ireland and Scotland and then you had the Bretonic Celts in Wales, Cornwall, and Cumbria that were descended from the Britons.

I'm aware of all of that on an above surface level, books and documentaries about the old country have been mainstays with me since my teenage years

William Wallace is the biggest Scottish hero ever yet his family hailed from Wales.. the surname Wallace is just another name for Welsh

Gina and Sihtrig are ****ing badasses. As badass as Uhtred himself. And Finnan isn't a ****ing stubborn jackass half the time like Uhtred either.

In all seriousness, it's one of my favorite periods in history. I already knew a lot of the large story arcs before I watched it. That made it that much better for me and I got really invested in ALL the characters. There were so many good ones, no matter what side of the conflict they were on. Just a superb telling of the story of that time.

Yeah, I know a lot more about the Roman Empire and the early Middle Ages than I do about stuff closer to modern times. I really thought the show did some things very very well with respect to actual history.

Y’all are a bunch of ****ing nerds.

Can someone please watch Adolescence and back me up? It might be the best thing I’ve ever watched in any medium outside of Shawshank Redemption and I mean that.

To add some teaser: imagine if Clay lived in the UK and never found CP. How do you think that would’ve ended up for him?

Isn't this a spoiler for the show? If so... you are a ****ing idiot.

It's not. He never watched the show, went on one of his incel websites, and found this and re-posted it here, not understanding the context.

He still is a ****ing idiot though.

I binged all four episodes. I even ****ing posted about it.

You are an ignorant son of a bitch.

Didn't even know they changed the age from 18 to 13. Stupid show. After the initial shock of the plot twist in the opening episode, it has little to offer the viewer besides a depressing look into mental illness. Categorizing it as some all-time great bit of entertainment is hilariously wrong. Admittedly, the camera work is great. Hopefully that is put to use on something with a better plot and characters, that isn't a lie.

It’s not based on a true story, you mental midget. And if you think the primary issue is mental illness, you either didn’t actually watch it or you didn’t quite follow it.

Either way, I’m sorry if this hit too close to home for you. I understand how that might be very difficult.

Yes it is. Show runners said as much. And the main character is literally diagnosed with mental illness during the show.

You attempting to paint me as a murderer is really ****ing lame. Have a great Sunday.
