Darn. Kinda hoped Veach would snag Chav. Dude’s been really good the past three-four seasons.

The explosion just wasn't there anymore. You hate to see it but I really think that groin issue (or whatever that lower body injury ended up being) really took the piss out of his speed.

Now he's just another reasonably fast NFL player -- league's littered with those guys. He simply doesn't have a standout skill anymore.

probably couldn't fit him under the cap, i get it. But he's been a top-5 CB for the last 3 years. in that light, that's not that expensive. especially when you consider that he knows the system/DC very well.

Kinda gets back to my 'boundary corner' discussion from the McDuffie conversation.

I just think this organization values the NCB role MORE than the boundary CB. They're happy to try to use the draft and/or reasonably priced veteran options on the boundary.

And I think they see that NCB gig as being harder in their system than the outside role. So they're just not eager to spend $18 million on a pure boundary guy like Ward.

Half that for less term with Fulton? Sure.

Based on what we've seen from Veach with how he drafts/Fa as well as how Spags has executed the defense over the last 3 or so seasons I have to agree with your conclusions. i was just saying, ward is a top-tier CB, a lockdown CB vs. the bigger WRs a la AJ Brown, DK Metcalf, Sutton, etc. and we could've used his talents both in the regular season and in the playoffs a few months ago.

Don't get me wrong - the fact that we seemingly have no use for quick-twitch DEs or a genuine DT2 with...ability....just drives me nuts.

But acknowledging something ain't the same as agreeing with it I suppose.

It's like playing fantasy sports -- you play the game, you don't coach it. "Well the backup RB for the Packers is WAY better than the starter and should be getting the goalline touches!!!"

Who cares? He doesn't. Take the guy that does. Same with baseball -- I don't care if the setup man is better, I'm gonna take the guy that gets the saves.

You play the game, you don't coach it.

Here I am just playing the game. I think they should do a few things differently with their personnel - I'm also fairly certain they just aren't gonna...

That first reunion meeting with Kelce would have been pretty awkward.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you're referencing. Did they get into it last season or something?

Super Bowl.

Ward made those comments about being happier there. Travis took some shots at him during the game over it.

I secretly am still hoping that we sign Nick Chubb. It does make less sense to do that now, but I would still like it. Unless Burt is planning to draft a RB, the draft actually looks kinda deep there
