Veach setting up for DT in 1st?

With the moves in free agency so far and the re-signings leading up to free agency, Veach seems to be setting up to draft a DT in Round 1, but no later than Round 2.

Looking at all the draft gurus in here. Is there a DT worth drafting at 31?

Scourton is a better prospect than Karlaftis with a noticeably higher ceiling.

If they take a DE I think it would be him

I think our pick at 31 will be a DL of some type, unless they are absolutely in love with Conerly or one of the receivers (Burden or Egbuka) somehow make their way to us.

Hell, I wouldn't mind if they brought Khalen Saunders back. I always enjoyed his play and I was at the New Orleans game where he had that interception/run back. The cool thing was how the Arrowhead fans reacted to him after the game and he was signing stuff an visiting with fans like he was still a Chief.

Chiefs really need a bigger WR to replace Juju and Watson and go with Rice for the future. Wouldn’t be surprised if that was one of the first 3 picks tbh

I wouldn’t be surprised if Veach does zig while everyone else zags though. WR and RB with the first 2 picks wouldn’t surprise me at all

Guys I think will be off the board:
DT Mason Graham, Michigan
DT Derrick Harmon, Oregon (might be able to trade up for him)
DT Walter Nolen, Ole Miss (character flags might drop him)
DE Abdul Carter, Penn State
DE Mykel Williams, Georgia
DE Shemar Stewart, Texas A&M

Guys I think are in play:
DT Kenneth Grant, Michigan
DT Tyleik Williams, Ohio State
DE Princely Umanmielen, Ole Miss
DE J.T. Tuimoloau, Ohio State
DE Nic Scourton, Texas A&M

Don't sleep on these guys:
DT Alfred Collins, Texas
DT T.J. Sanders, South Carolina
DE Landon Jackson, Arkansas
DE Jack Sawyer, Ohio State
DE James Pearce, Tennessee (reportedly huge character flags but top 10 talent)

Personal opinion is that if Harmon makes it to a comfortable trade-up distance for Veach, he's making that move. He is such a disruptive interior player. Him and Jones would be absolutely sick next to each other.

If he can't do that, I'd lean towards an edge and I'm putting my money on Princely.

I need to stop watching Derrick Harmon bc that’s my guy and it will make me sick if we don’t get him.

I still believe that if Luther Burden falls to 31 they just might take him.
