The money that the elite players are getting is absolutely stupid. Anyone wanting that kind of money can't give a crap about winning or their team. It just makes me sick. If he was getting half that much, he would still be making more money than he could ever spend and the other $20M per year could go towards making the team competitive. What happened to him wanting to be on a more competitive team? This ridiculous contract only helped to keep his team to continue to struggle to be competitive. SMH.

A rising tide lifts all boats- he won’t get these the deal that Garrett got but this means the even mid-level edge players should get paid more - similar to how the WR market was reset two years ago and now receivers like Gabe Davis can negotiate huge contracts (he got more AAV than Saquon Barkley I believe)

Cleveland is so far away from competing, they really should have traded him.

Yes but there comes a point where with someone like him where he's not gonna increase his "happiness" due to money, and as a player there's so many out there that just wished they could have played for a championship.

It took Reek like 1 season before he realized he ****ed up.

He got paid, good for him. He will never play in a super bowl or most likely in any meaningful games ever. But this did keep him off of the Bills so it's fine.
