And some people want to repeat that strategy?

Do you have a gun to the heads of the Atlanta Falcons front office personnel?

This isn't Madden. You can't make them do it. They have to respond. They have to accept.

Teams don't just trade dudes that can play T ... because.

I'm sure the Chiefs would LOVE for the Falcons to be willing to trade with them.

You play the cards you can, that you're dealt.

The best bet MIGHT end up being going with DJ Humphries and trying to develop a young guy behind him.

It's ****ing February 27th.

If September rolls around and there's no reasonable solution at LT, by all means complain your face off.

Otherwise, you're just being a performative little bitch.

He's been on this for weeks.

See, Penix is a lefty, so LT doesn't matter in Atlanta.

With even average play at LT, the Chiefs' OL would be one of the best in the league and plenty good.

They got rocked in the Super Bowl, but having Thuney at LG and an average level of LT play changes that OL view a lot.

If we're talking about their ability to adequately address a position like CB then by all means, I have faith they'll do that.

What about the past 2 years gives any reason for faith that this team knows what they're doing at LT? Because going into a season with a 21-year old super raw rookie at LT was such a genius solution, and just as brilliant was having no viable alternative. Yes, needing to switch your 33 yo left guard to LT because you have no alternative just screams competency.

So when Veach signs Jackson and Hollywood and drafts a DT, DE, CB, and an upgrade RB- will you still be complaining? Because that's all entirely on the table.

I mean, he's almost advocating for Veach to do nothing at LT - since he apparently would just **** it up anyway.

Honestly, I don't care. Allocation, schmallocation. Your top two WR are on rookie deals, you're likely drafting your RB in two months to pair with the rookie deal guy you have. Your HOF TE is going to retire very soon along with your HOF LG and your RT is likely gone after this year.

It's really not a big deal. Our weapons are young and cheap for awhile to go yet. This doesn't hurt the roster.

Pretty much where I am on it.

The question I have for the people complaining - you think the OL is bad now, how the **** do you think it gets better by letting Trey walk?

You're downgrading at that spot no matter what you do.

And when the OL would inevitably get worse, they'd bitch.

That's the thing about being a whiny bitch from the couch. You aren't ever held accountable for what you would've done.

By using the resources you've allocated for Trey Smith on Alaric Jackson or Cam Robinson instead. Or if you're going to sign one of them on top of tagging/extending Smith then use it instead of on a couple defenders that are pending free agents so we don't bottom out on that side of the ball, especially since one of Morris or Suamataia should be capable of not cratering the offense as they learn on the job.
