Fox Sports here isn't Fox Sports. They override it with local programming, which is all soccer. Right now, the guide says that one of the Chiefs-49ers Super Bowls is on, but the channel is showing some soccer guy faking an injury in a match of CNA versus ALI, whoever they are. The guide say that it'll show the Super Bowl, but the real football is being consistently overridden by wimpy little guys wearing shorts and kicking a round ball.

Apparently Fox Sports (the real one) is presented here as ESPN4. I can get ESPN4, but it shows an NBA game planed for the Super Bowl time slot, and right now there's a rugby game being shown of Escosia versus Irlanda. That does not give me hope. (I assume the guys in green are Irlanda, but have no idea who Escosia is.)

But I have a lead! There's an American chain restaurant nearby with a big cardboard cutout of Patrick Mahomes and some soon-to-be-despondent Eagles player, and my hotel desk clerk called them for me. They say they'll show the game, and I walked over and they have a bunch of TVs. I'm optimistic and hopeful for the first time.

And here's the cool part. The restaurant is Chili's. So I'll go to a Chili's in Chile. I'll be two Chiles deep tonight.

If it works, I'll be light on the game thread since I won't take my laptop. If it doesn't work, I'll be in the game thread and very grumpy.

On a different note, I don't understand rugby rules at all. It seems to make no sense that the defenders never seem to go for the ball. They tackle a dude and then everyone stands around while he hands the ball to a teammate who's standing up.
Tubi is streaming the game for free since it's owned by fox. I dont know why that shouldn't work even in a 3rd world country.

Yeah, I don't know. When I go to the site, I get a weird computer screen from 1986 or thereabouts, that says,

A few fun statistics to while away the wait.

Harrison Butker is the second-highest scorer in Super Bowl history. His 37 points is second only to Jerry Rice's 48. A 12-point game will make him the most prolific scorer in Super Bowl history.

Travis Kelce ranks second in all-time Super Bowl receptions with 31, trailing only Jerry Rice's 33. He needs three catches to be #1.

Kelce is fourth in receiving yards with 350, trailing only Jerry Rice (589), Lynn Swann (364), and Rob Gronkowski (364). He needs 15 yards to take #1 among tight ends and also move to 2nd place overall.

Patrick Mahomes II has the 11th-most rushing yards in Super Bowl history, with 172. #1 is Franco Harris with 354. Patrick has average 43 yards per Super Bowl, so an average outing today will move him up to 6th, just behind John Riggins and ahead of Timmy Smith.

Isiah Pacheco is currently 23rd all time with 135 yards. He averages 63 yards per Super Bowl, so an average outing from him will put him into a #8 tie with Roger Craig.
