So...say we win this thing. Isn't this the time to reset?

I guess it doesn't matter either way; looking at the cap, at the upcoming contracts, we're going to be doing a reset this offseason. Some core players will be moving on.

I think maybe it's time, and healthy.

I think maybe you let Bolton and Trey Smith go seek their fortunes.

I think you let Justin Reid walk.

I like Omenihu, but he keeps talking about the big money.

Wharton has played himself into a nice contract.

Things are going to look a lot different next season.

I think I'm extending Mcduffie and George on defense, and I'm building the offensive line around Creed and Thuney.

Yeah, I figure we lose Omenihu.

But I do think we'll pay for a veteran pass-rusher if we lose him.

We're not gonna try to make it work with Jones, Karlaftis and FAU, IMO. Maybe they've loved what they've seen from Felix this year, but that would surprise me.

Chase Young just fits well with that group.

Yeah I’m with DJ. Trey is out. He’s gonna get $21 million APY. But that’s okay.

There’s a reason Kingsley played G vs Denver. There’s a reason he has been active over Wanya as the backup G.

He’s good to be the RG next year. Watch the Denver game against Zach Allen. He was rock solid most of the game.

If anything, they will keep Bolton IMO. He’s too valuable to them. Tranquill is starting to age out a bit and as much as we love Leo, he’s not on the field that often compared to Bolton. He’s played half the snaps Bolton has this year.

It’s cost value as well. Bolton I imagine will want roughly $15 million APY. He’s about 30% cheaper than Trey at a more important position. That matters. A lot.

I look at the list of LBs making between 5 and 9 million and it has a ton of really solid-to-good players in that range. At the top of that list is Logan Wilson who is twice the overall LB as anyone we have on our roster. I can't fathom paying any of our group more than him.

Intangibles only go so far in a league full of grown men doing this for a paycheck.

I'd be just as happy signing guys like Dre Greenlaw, Tyler Dodson, Christian Rozeboom, or Jamien Sherwood (my preference). Don't overpay for limitations.

I wouldn't waste much time on Omenihu either. He either wants to be here at a price or he doesn't. I'd change course to a guy like Chauncey Golston, Chase Young, or Josh Sweat very quickly if he doesn't.

As for Trey Smith, I'm absolutely not interested in seeing us pay another OG top-of-market. Thuney was a rare exception because of his exceptional pass blocking and the deal made sense at the time. Trey Smith is not Joe Thuney and we need to pay other guys coming up soon.

One guy I do want to see back is Wharton. We have minimal investment in him to date and he took a big leap this year as a guy that can give you a lot of snaps next to Jones instead of in relief of Jones. He's just now entering his prime years. I think we should take advantage of that even if it's something like a 3 for 21 type of deal.

I feel really good about a post Travis Kelce world right now with Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy. Just keep adding onto those weapons.

I think this awesome DT class needs to be taken advantage of. Find your eventual Chris Jones replacement.

I'd like to bring Hollywood back even if he's gonna get dinged and miss some games.

Add another RB, maybe draft another WR in the mid rounds and go from there.

I don’t get why people think any type of “reset” is happening as if we are moving backwards at all?

The Chiefs still have Andy, Patrick, Spags and Veach. Until one of those guys leaves we aren’t going backwards. Moreover, all of the key secondary players like Toub, Merrit, Cullen and Heck are staying too. This is THE best coaching staff in the world and Veach is the top GM with only Roseman in his grasp.

The Chiefs have been building through the draft steadily for a long time. They’re preparing for the future. Bolton or Trey, McDuffie and Karlaftis are the key players here and I think that they are going to be the future key anchors.

Losing Kelce will hurt but drafting Rice and Worthy alone makes that hit way less brutal. Both of those guys are cheap the next 2 years, maybe 4 if Rice is extended.

Chris is only 30. I think he’s got 2-3 more elite caliber years before he starts the decline.

Bottomline: we still have our anchors. We have 3 picks in the top 66, 4 in the top 100 and 5 in the top 135. We have plenty of ammo to continue to reload as we move forward.

This train ain’t stopping any time soon

We also have an extra kicker on our roster. Not sure if we can flip him for a pick, but Green Bay has to be looking for a kicker now. Possibly another late rounder. Just a thought.

Yeah, I meant "reset" as opposed to "run it back".

We've done that before, and won the Super Bowl. I think it's probably always the smart move. It keeps you young, it keeps things fresh, and it keeps your cap in good shape every year.

But it doesn't concede anything at all.

Mahomes+Rice+Worthy is a pretty damned good core of offensive weaponry.
Concentrate on the offensive line and you should be able to score points. Bring back either Hollywood or maybe Dhop on a cheapish deal and work on the offensive line and RB.

Omenihu and Bolton probably leave for big bucks. You need a vet passrusher, you need to bolster LB, but other than that, the defense should be in good shape. Your core there is Jones+Karlaftis+Mcduffie. Add a couple of value vets and continue to draft well and we'll be right there again.

Yeah no way we should let Bolton walk. He’s spags on the field and absolutely runs that defense and he’s a beast.

Agree with absolutely all of this crow. No to Smith, I like him but he will absolutely cost too much. We can't pay everyone on that OL top dollar.

Not interested in Omenihu, I think there are better options, even if they cost marginally more, I'd go that route.

Bolton, I'm just perfectly comfortable exploring other options.

Actually, I probably disagree on Turk, aside from that, fully agree.

I don't think we can keep ignoring DT either. Yes, LT and the OL is probably more pressing, and DE may be even more of a need, but some of that is going to have to brought to a reasonable position through FA.

Even if we swing for a LT in the draft, I'd be amazed if we didn't sign a vet in FA to offer some cover. Assuming if Omenihu goes we'd look for a FA replacement as well. DT we've really shown no interest in, but there's some real nice talent to be had Day 2 and maybe 3 I reckon.
