Let's Talk About the Eagles (Super Bowl 59 Discussion)

We're headed back to the Ship and will try to be the first team to 3-peat in Super Bowl history!!! Chiefs open up as 1.5 favorites over the Eagles.

Discuss.

It's literally the same shit as last week, where 75% of the money was on the Bills. People bet with their hearts.

This isn't the first week it's been brought up... if they've been holding off bets because they think the other shoe will drop, they've been waiting 2 or 3 seasons at this point.

True. I mean I mention it every time I watch y'all play. But I could be biased

It does seem like the chatter is a bit louder this time.

I swear to God, our entire society is a laughing stock of circus clowns.
Seems like Vegas has finally learned their lesson about offering Mahomes +money in a playoff game since the line hasn't moved at all.

I think a contributor to all this refs BS is that we are always in close games. If we were ahead or behind by 14 points it wouldn't matter.

Also, statistically it's not true so there's that.

But yeah, close games.

It’s also an incredibly difficult sport to officiate. The field is huge. The players are huge and obstruct view. There are 22 players on the field. Practically every rule has some grey area in it or requires certain context to matter or not.

People generally agree you could call holding on every play. So how do you decide when to call it? When not to?

Watch every player on every play and you’ll find some form of missed call. You’ll find all sorts of bad calls. The game is just too grey to get perfect with the current system of officiating.

Then, factor in that the Chiefs win (a lot) and the games are close.

Makes it easy for unhappy people to blame the refs.

The complainers conveniently ignore that we have barely turned the ball over in the last 10+ games.

Could it be we are an extremely well-coached and disciplined team? Nah, the refs must be helping us with ball security.
