That team is probably a lot different if Caleb Grill doesn’t get hurt + experience a mental health crisis, and Tonje doesn’t get hurt. Everything came together perfectly for this squad. Gray has given them the size, physicality, defense and rebounding they lacked. And he’s bad-ass defending the pick and roll. Mitchell is the perfect F for Gates. Big and athletic, can defend bigs and rebound, but also has wing skills and can defend the wing in switch situations or drive on bigger guys. Perkins is the perfect combo guard to pair with Ant. Physical, can handle, gives them a really nice floor for PG performance game in, game out. The. You throw in Pierce and Ant taking nice steps forward, and Grill getting healthy and shooting like he’s Larry Curry or something, and even a few freshmen giving them good minutes when needed, and it’s a deep, talented squad with a lot of depth.

I hate to break it to you guys but Caleb Grill is not this good. He will shoot you out of some games on his own. But hes streaky and hes hot. Gotta hope for the best.

I hate to break it to you, but that’s college basketball. It’s the same with that Hunter Dickinson guy on KU. He can get lucky every now and then and put together a good stat line, and then disappear completely against teams like Creighton or in big games in Ames.

Well yeah I don't expect he will keep shooting 49% from 3, but I bet he finishes at worst in the low 40%s. He's clearly gotten alot better than he was in years past.

We got ranked 15th which is an absolute joke. One spot ahead of kansas one spot behind Kentucky. We play number 4 ranked Tennessee Wednesday and number 10 ranked a&m Saturday. Big games this week, need to go 1-1 at least. This conference is no joke.

If you beat Tennessee, this is a no-shit potential Final 4 team. If you can go into Knoxville and win that game, there's not a game you CAN'T win. You can beat anyone. Now I'm not gonna get THAT optimistic so I harbor few illusions about beating TN. But that A&M game is a real stress test moment. At home with a chance to prove you're a legitimate top 4 seed in the tournament. You make it to that 2 or 3 line and anything can happen. You hang tough with TN and beat A&M and that's absolutely on the table. But....Mizzou.
