Most important to me, probably the Bucs loss.
In the worst of times, always without fail, people show you who they really are. Mahomes to that point I don't think had even ever lost a game by double digits, let alone get blown out. What was it, 6 times inside their 30 and no tds? Offensive line couldn't protect a warm cup of piss, receivers (that term is used VERY mother ****ing loosely here) couldn't catch a cold. Dropped or were unaware of so many passes that if they caught HALF of them we win by 10. Andy had idiot kid on the brain, even the punter couldn't perform the simple act of punting the football. Defense absolutely riddled with sloppy play, penalties, Andy full Andy end of half WTAF timeout that led to spot fouls and a score on a drive the bucs had waved the white flag on first down, content to go to half. Playing through pain on a foot needing surgery, scrambling for a cumulative 500+ yards just to get passes away to guys who had no ****ing clue the game had started. He was the exact same guy we saw the previous 2 years when he was on top of the world. No poor body language. No finger pointing. Not even one single percent of let up from this kid. Getting mauled, making the throws, the Superman throw, to watch this kid playing a losing uphill battle on ice skates, you'd think he had the ball on the last drive of the game going for the win. He flatly refused to accept defeat until double zeroes and even after, the whole ****ing world could see that 15 was the ONLY member of the Kansas City Chiefs franchise that showed up ready to play that game, he never pointed fingers, he didn't bitch up and refuse to take the podium after the worst beating of his life both literally and figuratively. Mahomes showed us who he is. Not just when shit is going great. He's a leader. He's a winner. He's a God damn beast, and when it's all over, Patrick Mahomes will be regarded as the greatest quarterback that ever stepped onto the gridiron. When this dude makes it glaringly obvious what a beast he is, in a brutal loss, I'm not sure how any DC facing him sleeps the week prior. You gotta kill this kid to beat him.

It's hard to top the first 49er one since decades of emotion came out finally witnessing them winning one and everyone else at the party was rooting for KC. Last year was special though because it was the first SB party a lot of my friends and family were rooting against the Chiefs because of Brock Purdy being we're in Central Iowa.

Definitely 2019. Just making it to the Super Bowl felt amazing. That whole run was bonkers
Thinking back on them now, were the Chiefs underdogs in every SB matchup? |

I believe we were underdogs for every Super Bowl win but were favoured against Tampa.

It's hard to beat the euphoria of the 2019 ascension. I have loved them all, but in the end, ascension to the top > waiting to get knocked off the top. It has be a SWEET wait though!

'19 will have a special place in everyones heart for being the first of the mahomes era.
but if '24 is won... you're going to have a hard time seeing any other ring topping it. the amount of vitriol, hate, pressure, and adversity from injuries/media etc. faced to get this 3-pete really cannot be overstated. this ring feels it will go down as THE ONE barring a miraculous 4-pete.

LIV without question. It's the last time people were universally rooting for the Chiefs. Before we became the most hated team in the history of the universe...
...but seriously, that night was magical. Had some friends over, and they started taking video of me as the night wore on. When the Chiefs won, I ran outside, grabbed my flag and ran up and down the street yelling like an idiot. Got a lot of congrats, as these guys have known me most of my life, and they all were happy for me. I honestly never thought I'd actually live to see the day, so just seeing ONE SB for me was enough.

I want to say we were 4.5 point favorites even. Pretty big for a Super Bowl.

When we were at the point in the AFC Championship before LIV, where it was obvious we clinched, I was reduced to tears. Something that I had wanted since I was a 7 year old child, was real.

I’ll echo the sentiments of some others in here.
2019 is hard to beat for obvious reasons. 2022 was great because it showed that we weren’t going to be a flash in the pan kind of deal. I remember worrying in 2020 and 2021 that we may end up Aaron Rodgersing Mahomes’ career. 2023 was great because it solidified the dynasty. Three wins in five years is the most common definition of what makes a sports dynasty so there was no denying us then. Going on the road and beating the toughest schedule by DVOA of all time was also pretty awesome. 2024, if we can pull it off, would be amazing for the threepeat. Idk. They’re all special to me. |
