Which Chiefs Super Bowl game was/is most important to you?

Which of our Super Bowls were you most emotionally invested in? I imagine most of you will say Super Bowl LIV given the 50 years of wait and suffering but I'm sure it won't be unanimous. For me it's this one, but I'm well aware I didn't have to go through the Cassel years and all the shit before it. I can't remember having wanted to win a game more than this. We are on the cusp of being the greatest team/dynasty in history.

So what meant/means most to you?

Mods: Dunno how to do a poll but would appreciate it if you could add one for Super Bowls IV, LIV, LV, LVII, LVIII and LIX.

There is so much truth in this. There is not much classier than when the holder of a record is there to congratulate the person that surpasses the record. Conversely, there are few things at the opposite end of the spectrum than watching someone actively rooting against their record being surpassed such as the way the Dolphins from that perfect season actively root against everyone that might surpass their accomplishment.

LIV means/meant the most.

Prior to LIV my sentiment was always that I wanted to see one before I die. To get to finally see it at the age of 42, with my dad, after 30+ years of torture and torment was an actual dream come true.

First one obviously but not far off was the one we lost. If we had won that game everything would have changed.

Mahomes 1-1 vs Brady in the playoffs, Tom only having 6 rings while Patrick could have 4 next Sunday and technically not need 7 to pass Brady

2019 felt surreal but I was happy just for the Chiefs to be playing in that game. The expectations were not the same as 2022/2023.

This season we have a chance to make further history but it's icing on the cake. They've already done something special just to make it this far and play in 5 SBs in 6 years.
I felt about the same in '19... I was convinced at that point Mahomes would win a SB and just wasn't crazy concerned if it was that season. Sure, I stressed the hell out in the 2nd half, but just being there felt more or less like a step in the right direction.

In terms of emotional investment, I'd sadly say it was probably the following season... I was supremely confident they were beating the Bucs and that game definition lowered expectations for the following seasons.

2022, expectations were lowered with Mahomes' ankle, but once halftime rolled around of the Bengals game, I was back to stressing the **** out in the AFCCG and then SB since as you mentioned, they needed to bounce back from a couple disappointing finishes.

Last season, especially with Kelce saying they had been waiting two years to get back for B2B redemption and then Mahomes' interview ending the sentence of "After the Super Bowl, the Chiefs..." with "will be a dynasty", got me pretty jacked to win it all (especially against freakin Purdy).

And now, outside of some serious ref ****ery, I won't at all be disappointed in not winning 3 Super Bowls in a row... yet, just thinking about what it took to get here, it's most likely their one shot at a 3peat (and Kelce's only shot, I'm sure).

It was definitely the roughest I've felt the following day out of all the SBs, in early morning meetings with people who didn't give a **** about the game and were probably a bit annoyed I couldn't pay attention.

In 2019, I was most nervous about the AFC playoffs, because we came so close to the SB in 2018. Didn't want us to fail again on the home field. I also figured we'd get other chances at the SB with Mahomes even if we lost.

2020 and 2021 hurt equally. I hope we don't find out next week, but the next playoff loss will hopefully be easier to take with two additional SBs since 2019.

The most nervous I have ever been for a Chiefs game was the 2022 (season) AFC Championship game vs Cincy.

I didn't want to lose to those sniveling douches again, at home. I blew a circuit during the second half of 2021 AFCCG (for real, it lead to some important decisions about mental health and how seriously I was taking this shit). So when 2022 rolled around and we faced Cincy again, I very much did not want our story to be ended by the shittiest franchise in the NFL.

2020 we should have known better. I didn’t at the time though. There was too much bad juju around the team. OL was either hurt or playing out of position. That TB defense was stacked to give Tom the best chance at making (more) history, and breaking more records. Think the league might have expected him to hang it up after that, but he’s too much of a winner that I don’t blame him for trying back to back one last time. But he did NOT like getting hit that last season. And for once it made a chink in his armor. 7 rings and every passing and TD record is ridiculous. More rings than any franchise. That’s not gonna be easy to top, but if anyone can it’s the killer wearing number 15. Patriots fans might give him all the motivation to keep playing til he breaks Brady’s records, especially since he never beat him head to head in the playoffs.

@ Bearcat the second best part about winning it last year was winning in our division rivals stadium, and then Aleway delivering us the Lombardi. The ring that they won moved KC ahead of the other 2 teams that each had 3, and both those teams had to watch in horror as we unwittingly made them both part of the game or ceremony after the W. It’s Vegas. It’s supposed to be a party 24/7 365. Looked like the team had a great time living it up afterward, and I think they went back to party more a week or so later.

They should have Brady leave the booth and be the one to bring the Lombardi to the team (if) when we complete the threepeat! Would be a cool moment for the league. But idk if they’ll do it in reality.

It will always be Superbowl LIV for me. Getting to finally see the Chiefs go to and win the Superbowl was just amazing.

On another note, I read a story the other about the Chiefs practice schedule for the Superbowl. Reid said that they would follow their usual Superbowl routine. . I got quite the kick if that. Our Chiefs have a routine for the Superbowl!! I love it.

It's interesting. I was upset we didn't make it in '18, but what else did I know? I had only ever seen the Chiefs lose before the Super Bowl.

So after we didn't make it in 2021, it made 2022 so much more stressful. Because I knew the feeling and wanted it again.
