Off Season Lets Talk Guns, Part 2

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

My EDC for a while now. P365 SAS. I got it for a really good price, and loved the ultra compact size. But I didn't like the actual SAS features. So I replaced the recessed slide catch for the normal 365 one, and had the slide cut to install a narrow red dot that perfectly fit the slide width. No front sight. Super comfortable carry for the capacity.

Since this topic got bumped I'll post my new, to me, AR's.
The AR-15 isn't the AR I would have ordered for myself but a buddy was looking to sell it to fund a new handgun purchase so I got the buddy deal on it.
It's an Anderson with a 24" Bull Barrel, built in bipod and Nikon scope. It's a bit heavy on the front end but I'm still looking forward to cutting some paper with it.
The bottom one is my Tokarev TAR-12, 12 guage shotgun. Since this pic I've put a HoloSun sight and a tactical light with a remote switch on it. I was told to run a box or two of bird shot through it to break it in and make sure it's cycling right but I've also got a couple boxes of 3" magnum 00 Buck shot for home defense.

Awesome!!! Just came in here to talk about that one!! Wanted the thing for 15 years plus. Still considering the Maverick 88 20” barrel 7+1 because of price difference and the fact I’m n the market for other toys. But one of my main questions is how do you like the ghost sites on the thing compared to the main bead sights on most shotguns? Congratulations bro! Not gonna lie I’m jealous!

Anyone’s experience good or bad, pros and cons on ghost ring sights on shotguns. Would be getting the same exact sights on the 590A1 or 590 Persuader. They make taller and bigger ghost ring sights but if I go that route it’ll be the stock ones like Fraz has

I've not been tracking but hoping somebody has... Has the price and availability of common rounds (9mm, 45ACP, .357, 270, 243, 223/5.56, 7.63, .308, .30-06 etc.) dropped yet? Are they expected to drop more, soon? I don't want to be caught flat-footed again..

The ghost site was one of the main selling points, and also the main reason I opted for the more expensive model. I've never cared for the bead sites on standard shotguns.

I have ghost rings on a couple guns, but not for any shotguns, because I usually bird-hunt or shoot clays with my shotties, and ghost rings make that harder to acquire fast-moving targets. For relatively static targets, ghost rings should allow for better long-range shooting.

Great choice. Looking to get a Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical in March. Also like the M4, but happy to buy American for about half the price. (Sold my first 940 to a relative that really wanted it. Took a loss & regretted it ever since.)

Yeah, my bird hunting days are long since over. This is purely a defensive weapon.

Hell, then I'd go straight to a red dot or similar. The ghost ring isn't going to be that helpful in a defensive situation indoors anyway.

Gotcha. It’s all about practice I suppose. I wouldn’t be afraid to use a shotgun with ghost rings for slugs shooting a deer in shotgun season. It’s going to be a great gun to line up slugs. The rest of it for someone like me who has mostly used my 870 for pheasants and trap shooting and lining up and getting down the eyes to the sight coordination would just take time. You going to add any accessories?

Thanks! Kinda my thinking. Just keep the 870 for the birds which I don’t do much of anymore. A guy just has to have the proper expectations
