There is not another Chris Jones in the making in the NFL right now. Especially a kid as stupid off the field as Jalen Carter has been.

Surely we know the folly of using sacks as a dispositive metric of impact. Jalen Carter isn't Chris Jones, but he's REALLY damn good.

And again, I think with Davis (or Ojomo in pass rush situations) at the nose and Milton Williams at the other 3-tech, y'all are sleeping on that front. Williams especially -- he's been a very good player for them this year. And I think that's largely because it's not the same as what we do, IMO. It's a 3-4 hybrid sort of front but we're looking at these guys using an even front sort of lens.

But that's not how they role.

You just really can't make a comparison between their players and ours, or their players and the 2022 team. It's a COMPLETELY different system.

But they do create some headaches with it. When they get pressure with Carter/Williams/Ojomo/Davis -- that's a pretty strong bonus when they also have Smith and Sweat coming off the edge.

I'm just disinclined to hand-waive that Eagles pass rush, especially when combined with a deep and talented secondary.

I don't think they're better than Houston, but I do think they're better than Buffalo and by a pretty fair bit.

We put up 23 vs. Houston and 32 vs. Buffalo -- split the gap and that's how I get to around 27. I think that's a pretty makeable and reasonable target mark.
It's a lot easier to look at Chris Jones this year and say the sacks weren't there, but he's still by and large that double digit sack guy at the end of the day.

I'm not willing to say a 2nd year guy with 10.5 career sacks is prime Chris Jones today. I think he's on that trajectory, but there's no need for the hyperbole.

There's no way in hell Barkley is running for 200 yards and 3 TDs against this Spags defense. I feel better about this SB than any other.

Keep in mind, Washington was within range of pulling off an upset had they not shot themselves in the foot. Iggles won that game, blew it open, because the dummie Commanders kept turning the ball over.
The 2014 is better than the 22 team in almost every position group. DE might be the one exception. People trash hurts, but he’s basically executed the offense… run run run… When he has passed, his passing efficiency is very good.

0-8 yikes

Guy is not even in the same ballpark as Spags. He’s three towns over listening to the game on radio.

But to act like it’s this massive upgrade? Yeah, doesn’t track.
You literally just listed almost 30% of the defense. Jalen Carter also a massive upgrade. Cooper Dejen in the slot… A huge upgrade. Now we’re up to almost half of the defence being upgraded in a significant way.

I am very happy tot play the Eagles though. The Rams would have presented the biggest matchup issue for us.

Jared Verse was 4th in the NFL in pressures. Unbelievable steal that guy was. He had the same amount of pressures as Chris Jones this season and he was a goddman rookie. Only 5 less than Myles Garrett who was 1st in pressures.

They also had Kobie Turner who tied Jalen Carter in pressures with 53. And Fiske who had double-digit sacks and 40 pressures. And Young who had 8 sacks of his own as a speed rusher.

That DL is legit. And so are their weapons. And Stafford is unequivocally more dangerous than Hurts.

Rams would have been way tougher of an opponent

Same was true with Buffalo heading into their game with KC. They only got 1 turnover and it was a fluke fumble by Mahomes/Pacheco that wasn't forced by any contact with the Buffalo players. Buffalo led the league in turnover margin this season.

Based on what, Madden ratings?

Again, this idea that either team is far better or even worse than two years ago is nonsense.

No but Jared Verse is that dude if we’re talking DL in general. He is outstanding. And he laid it on the Eagles tackles who are ranked the best in football.

So impressed with that kid

Yeah Verse is Khalil Mack 2.0

If the Rams make the right moves this offseason, they're my NFC favorite for 2025. It may not be all that close either.
