Ok, so the wife and I are considering going to the Super Bowl in NOLA. Yes, tickets are going to be approx $18,000 but, we can pull this off. To us, this is a lifetime experience. Who on Chiefsplanet are planning to go to this game?

If you’re looking at the NFL On Location tickets for 18k each, those aren’t going to represent any value. And you won’t be able to sell them for a profit when all is said and done, let alone a huge profit.

I attended three out of the four Chiefs Super Bowls, missing Tampa. I have to say all were great (Arizona was the best) except for Las Vegas last year. We had the most obnoxious 49ers fans sitting behind us in section 334 and it took everything in me and a calming wife not to go to jail that night. Of course the victory helped ease the frustration at the end, but I told myself I’d never go spend that type of money again to be so frustrated during a game. With that said, I have this lingering superstition in my head that we went 3-0 in Super Bowls that I attended and 0-1 for the one that I didn’t.

I've been to a SB in which the Chiefs wernt playing. Got the ticket for free in 1979. Lots of chapter members go every year and report back to our groups their experiences.

If you have the extra cash, by all means go and get the experience. Just be ready to have a different game day in the stadium. Most wont be fans of either team but corporate seats. Despite that, most people dont regret spending the money and having that experience.

This is false. Prior to ever having been to the SB, I always thought the atmosphere would be sterile and corporate, and I always said I’d much rather go to an AFCCG. But having now been to the recent ones in Miami, Phoenix, and Vegas, it couldn’t be further from the truth. The environment is awesome and far, far less corporate. It more closely feels like a college football title game and the energy is awesome.

"Excuse me, Mr. Hunt, we have a package here addressed to you."

"What is it? Who's it from?"

"It's stamped Sir, 'Urgent'. It says it's from the NFL headquarters. It also has a stamp that says 'Lombardi'."

"Please throw it over in that pile over there, with the others. Thank you Cheeves."

"Will do Sir. Thank you Sir."

I went to LVII in Phoenix. Absolutely amazing experience and worth every penny!

That said, I already looked at flights and lodging in NOLA for this one. Crazy high prices and they’ll only get higher if we make it for the attempt at NFL history. Probably not gonna make this one, but you never know I suppose…

Already got flights and Air BnB booked for the Arrowhead Invitational, however… GO CHIEFS!

I agree, went to Miami and it was great and a great fan atmostphere. Also went to Vegas last year, but not to the game, watched it at Circa Swim Stadium. Great time. I think we will head down to NOLA for the festivities again, but probably not go to the game.

I went to LIV in Miami and I'll go to this one if KC gets there. NO is about a 6 hour drive from Galveston TX, and I have access to a condo off the Quarter, so it will be much less of an expense, only having to purchase tix.

I agree! Was great to see you and other Chiefs fans in Miami and I am very glad I went. It’s something I am glad I did once and might do again but probably won’t, but going to the host city and enjoying the festivities is a savvy play.

For what it’s worth, I bought tickets on the NFL official partner site, On Location Experiences, and I am glad I did, despite the high service fee. I took my older brother and he has loads of experience buying and selling tickets for games, dating back to the hundreds of Royals and other games we attended with our dad where we would go out to games without tickets and buy them from fans outside. Even with all that experience , we decided to play it safe.

I would be inclined to wait until after the Chiefs win the AFC Championship before I bought tickets and I wouldn’t treat it as something I could buy and then resell to make money if we don’t get in, because both the service fees and the related risk of being scammed make that hard to do.

In summary, definitely go if you can afford it and have a great time, but recognize that it’s expensive and not an investment opportunity

The vast majority of fans were real supporters of their team. It was a great atmosphere. If the Lions make it, that would be a great set of fans to sit by, as you’ll be with lots of kind folks who are appreciative of making it back to a championship game after decades in the wilderness
