They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

Agreed. I’ve said before that a good and doable approach is to reload, then spend 1-2 years resetting. Hell 2022 was supposed to be a reset and we won a damn Super Bowl.

You just want to always have flexibility.

You've got Thuney coming off the books soon.

Pat has the money he has. So protect him and give him weapons so he isn’t walking into his 30s dancing around in the pocket. If you have a high priced chef, give him the ingredients to cook.

Draft a few guys - first round WR, late round speed option, and bring in another TE target via draft or free agency. That will help with depth but more than likely we need a reasonably priced tier 2 vet and that isn’t gonna break the bank the way we think it will.

But there is no reason to look back on this season, even with a Super Bowl, and not conclude that Patrick deserves way better than what he was asked to work with

He just cooked a gourmet meat because they gave him the defense he had to keep him in games and win.

Once he locked in during the playoffs, the offense played well. At his cap #, it's either that with a defense, or you just build the offense and try to outscore people.

It can't be both. This year was just an outlier in regards to the weapons. Stay the course a bit here.

The best thing we can do is stock up on groceries this year. Restructure mahomes bonus to give us Monopoly money. Stock up on offense. Keep our key guys on defense, realistically make choices to deprioritize a few guys. Backload a few contracts.

In 2025 take a step back. Don’t make many moves, allow some of your key guys like thuney or Willie gay to slide off. Trade a few of those guys. Stockpile picks. Save it for one offseason because every guy you sign hurts our comp pick status.

The next year either keep what you’ve got or reload if necessary.

Repeat over and over again.

About the only thing I am confident regarding the WR situation is that MVS is unlikely to be back at his current number. Toney is probably done because he's a nutcase. Who knows about the rest? There will be changes, but it's not obvious what those will be.

All the playoffs did was temporarily mask underlying issues. We won the Super Bowl because our defense was dominant. And because kelce found a fountain of youth a few games. And Mvs didnt screw up for a few games. For the same reason we got rid of frank clark we can’t hold your breath that a guy will show up for the playoffs. Have to imagine that was our defensive peak and we can’t rely on kelce to be this kind of guy next season.

But we still had a Miami game where mecole left a LOOOOTTT of yards on the table. And then the next where he almost fumbled the game away. Our last 6 quarters were gutty but they were a struggle. Our team proved they can win this way, but that doesn’t mean we should have to. We are not that far away on offense from being consistently really really good and that means we don’t have to compromise as much in D as we thought. That’s really good reason to patch the offense up this offseason

I don't think the key solution is spending big money on receivers. The key is finding more dudes like Rice in the Draft.

I'd like to have him too, but our secondary can handle anyone our division opponents want to waste money on.

MVS and Toney are gone, Sky probably is too.

The playoffs showed what Pat and company have in the bag. It's just the way it is.

I may be alone in this, but I think personally I kind of want Gabe Davis. Just feel like we could maybe save money on him over MVS, and I feel like he'll be decently priced on the market. I may be wrong though, we'll see.

How about trade for an elite pass catching TE. Heir to Kelce but an immediate contributor. It will never happen but imagine what Reid would do with Kyle Pitts

I dunno, Buffalo fans can't wait to get rid of him. That sounds pretty similar to MVS in Green Bay. Gabe's biggest problem is drops. That's the type of thing we are hoping they can fix in Kansas City, not make it worse with another Butterfinger person.
