Exactly.

If the ball is supposed to be thrown to a sit route, it has to come at the break. Mahomes got caught in between - timing of a deep out; location of a stop route.

That's on Mahomes, fellas. He didn't give MVS any chance at that.

Hard to be completely certain what he did.

The only thing that would put this back on MVS if it wasn't an out route at all but rather called as a dig and MVS just didn't hear it?

But you don't see a lot of deep comeback routes. That's an out 99 times out of 100.

Just looks like Mahomes vaporlocked to me - threw to the man, not the spot he was going to be. I really don't know.

Well, it wasn't indecision about *where* to go with the ball.

From the EZ view, you can see he never looks ANYWHERE but MVS.

Which is a shame, because Kelce is WIDE ****ING OPEN in the middle of the field.

y'know what? The end zone view makes me think we're overcomplicating it.

That's just a bad ball. Look at his mechanics there. Steps wide, doesn't bring his arm through, hips don't really follow and I'm not even 100% sure he's looking where he's aiming.

The mechanics are a complete mess and it creates some odd 'sling'. Look at where his arm finishes - he finishes his throw with his hand OVER his left shoulder. That's not to say he can't complete that ball - he has 100 times. His mechanics don't need to be perfect; he has an innate ability to make anything work.

But sometimes it don't.

Honestly I wonder if that's just not a really poorly thrown ball rather than a miscommunication. Almost everything about it looks uncomfortable and really for no reason at all. Set your feet, step towards your target and drive the ball. That was just...I dunno...lazy?

Is this that season Rodgers had? Was it 2018 or 2019? Where a whole slew of odd habits that never got him in trouble before started cropping up at bad times. He was still really REALLY good, but not as good. Not good enough to carry an otherwise flawed GB roster.

Probably reading too much into a single throw...

Boy, that's a *really* good call.

I mean, he's been known to go the playground route when it's not necessary - poor footwork, odd arm angles when it's not needed - seems like he needs to get back to basics.

Might have seen the safety peel off the outside WR during the throwing motion and tried to pull it back inside

Whatever the case may be, if he just rips that ball right in between the 2 and the 0, that's 20 yards as simple as breathing.

And the coverage sure makes it seem like that should've been clear as day. Great big pocket in front of him, MASSIVE throwing lane. There's just nothing about that play that should've caused it to fail.

There aren't many QBs in the league that can't make that throw. It's just gotta get made.

There's been about 3 people in the draft forum who thought going with WR R1 wouldn't be a terrible idea the last few years, and about a million screaming it was the dumbest idea possible because we needed "balance" and a better D. Think you were maybe one of those 3 if I remember. Anyway, our WRs do indeed suck and it turns out, our DL still kinda sucks too (sure, it's also young). So anyway, yeah, I hear you.

PFF tells us what we all saw against the Bills (for once) 6 worst offensive players for the Chiefs were 4 WRs and 2 OTs.

Here's RGR's take on the same play. He's blaming MVS. Look at Patrick's face after the play.

Yah. Based just on Pat's reaction there, that's an MVS problem. Again. Shocking.

The WR room has been aids since '21 and that was WITH Hill. I've basically been screaming at the top of this mountain for 3 straight ****ing seasons as the WR room continued to get worse. There was a reason I was absolutely livid about the Moore pick.

Mahomes IS the Chiefs. We have a V10 under the hood and we keep trying to fuel it with thrift store gas and house brand oil. It's ****ing nuts.

Things that seemed so goddamn obvious yet for whatever reason everyone convinced themselves that it wasn't.

Ive more or less checked out of this conversation the last two months as ive basically been trying to have this conversation for 3 ****ing seasons. Now im just annoyed by it because NOOOOOOOW everyone wants to talk about it.....too ****ing late.
