I don't get the impression that Moore is indifferent - more that he's just stupid and lacks talent. Should the why of it matter? Eh - not really. But it usually does.

Training can make a stupid person look smart, at least in that particular area. But it's wasted on lazy. Coaches think they can fix stupid - they won't even try to fix lazy.

Speaks was lazy.
Moore has to be doing something right to still be here. Must actually care and shows up for Mahomes private stuff and is checking those boxes.

That's great but this is a business. There are guys kicking around on other team practice squads who are probably better.

You could pump 4 new bodies into this WR room fairly easily. Especially if Morris sticks at LT.
If we're picking 25...that 3 is either being used to move or we're reaching on a 1st round WR.

Wouldn’t surprise me though if we add 2 guys. 1 veteran, 1 in the draft. And that would probably be fine. Watson and Toney/mecole (I imagine we keep one, but not both) are fine stashes. A complete wild card but maybe remigio can give skyy some run. Wouldn’t surprise me if we kept 6 and I’m pretty ok with that.

Who's the vet?

Thats where we start, are they going for Evans or is it a cheaper vet.

Maybe.

Deep WR crew in this round, though. 5, maybe 6 guys that may end up with 1st round grades. One of them could slip to 25.

If we want to do a move to shore up the WR room for the next 5 years they better be evaluating this WR class like their SB window depended on it.

If they see a guy as good or better then Zay Flowers or Addison last year MOVE UP and give up the draft capital to get your #1 WR for Mahomes on cost controlled deal.

Then we need to use our status as a SB contender with Mahomes to grab bargain FA's to fill up bottom of the roster that draft picks can't do because we used a bunch of draft resources to fix it this year.

You have Harrison who's a top 3 pick...the next guy is Odunze who at worst is top 15. After that it's Nabers who I'm not sold on...I do like Troy Franklin I think he'd be a very good compliment for Rice.

This is the part that's questionable. Will they add a quality vet? Or another MVS/JWat type?

And even if they do add another vet, will just one "better than Skyy" player really be enough?

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

This post is really the last dregs of frustration I have for this fiasco, btw. I can't be annoyed about the WR situation anymore, I'm just over it now.

I know that there's about a 99% chance that Veach attacks the WR issue over the upcoming offseason as he attacked the OL and the defense in previous years. And that this problem will go away sooner rather than later.

Just the last vestige of anger that Veach looked at that WR room after the SB, looked at their production and their performances on tape, and told himself it was going to be a better than average corps. i get that fans could get over-excited about Toney's two plays in the SB, or Skyy's decent game and pair of good punt returns, but for a professional former scout and GM, it's just irritating.

Anyway, here's to Veach fixing this shithole of a WR room in 2024. Can't wait.

Odunze is better than those guys.......immaculate route runner. He doesn't have Flowers explosion but he's got more size.

DJ, remember when this bundle of sticks was trying to pretend that he wasn't bitching about the Chiefs not trading up for Flowers?

And again, you continue to talk about Flowers like he's SO much better than Rice when there's absolutely nothing to back it up. Flowers isn't any more of a "#1 WR" than Rice is.

I haven't dug in yet. Last year was one of the first years I wasn't into the draft.

But better than Flowers is great because Flowers is special. A lot better than I thought.

That's how close we are. We add Flowers to Rice and one decent vet and we walk in to the SB this year.

Watson's cheap depth. Rice is obviously a keeper. Toney would also probably qualify as cheap depth. So that leaves 3 spots with a 4th that could bump someone off the roster. That's pretty doable.
I don't see them using two of 5/6 picks, nor having the money - unless they are letting both Jones and Sneed walk.

You're looking at $20M minimum for a difference maker, and you're picking too late in R1 to get one most likely.

What exactly makes Flowers more "special" than Rice?

I'm all ears...

The difference in Rice and Flowers is the Ravens trusted Flowers to be basically 1B from the day they drafted him.
