Didn't think of it that way, but you're right. One thing about Veach is he usually goes total gangsta when fixing blatant weaknesses.I think he fixes the WR room in the off season.

Veach and Andy both thought Toney was a WR1 and Skyy would make a jump.

This isn't just some bad WR. It's historically bad WR play. I don't think anyone thought it would be this bad.

I really hope that DE is good next season cause he's barely on the field. I really wanted LaPorta to end the 1st round too

How about just resigning Wylie... at $12 million/year less than they are paying Taylor.

This isn't just some bad WR. It's historically bad WR play. I don't think anyone thought it would be this bad.
I think most probably thought the floor was:

Toney gets hurt and just isn’t available
Moore is like a 400 yard receiver with a few TDs
MVS would be the typical 500-700 yard receiver he’s been for his career

Instead:

Toney has somehow found a way to actually hurt the team by being on the field with bad negative plays.
Moore has 1 big play on the season and pretty much nothing else.
MVS either completely disappears or drops a pass in a big moment. He has 1 good game on the season (which, like Moore, mostly came on 1 play).

It’s crazy that these three all found ways to be worse than the assumed floor, which was pretty low to begin with.

The weird this is that he’s mostly been available. He’s just been terrible.

Hate to say it, but this was the way.

They could have used the balance to get Hopkins in here and you have an easy path to repeat.

We overpaid for OT and underpaid for WR.

Wylie has given up 9 sacks and is one of the 5 worst OL in pressures given up.

Imagine this offense but with Wylie getting obliterated every 3rd down

Wylie was really good down the stretch last season, and didn't have 30 penalties.

Patrick has always been able to compensate for one weakness at OT.

What's now clear is he CANNOT compensate for five weaknesses at WR.

A classic case of taking a fish out of water.

Chiefs were always able to scheme around his weaknesses.

Stick with James, Rice Toney getting the most WR snaps. MVS and Moore need the least. I felt toney even with the mistakes still made positive plays
