We got so focused on the plays that juuuuust missed that we lost track of the fact that hey - 20 of 'em hit. And when they hit, that's points on the board in some fashion.

MVS collapsing has really hurt us a lot. And like you, I just don't understand it. I mean I'll accept that he didn't get any better but damn, he shouldn't have gotten worse.
"SB Hangover" or complacency IMO is the culprit

If he's gotta have more than just competent weapons (they were last year, I still think there's similarities this year but results are results), it's not likely to happen.
Look at Superbowl winners and you see they usually have weapons all over the field.

The 3rd pass Pat evades some pressure and throws the ball down the field. I didn't think that was allowed?

Some really tight window throws in those highlights that just aren't being made as well...

That’s why you have to accept you can’t build or sustain a defense like the 49ers and instead make sure your QB has the tools to score any time.

Money ball the defense.

Am I the only one that feels like most of this year has kinda felt like a chore to watch them? The games are just boring as shit. You get some build up of excitement only to be let down by a penalty, turnover, or FG.

I've never been someone who is excited by good defensive games, but I'm almost more excited to watch the defense over the offense (when the D is healthy).

Poor coaching is not likely what's caused these offensive issues, but it is up to the coaches to solve the problem.

They get to decide if they're going to play MVS more or less. They create the gameplans that highlight certain players running certain routes. They run the practices that perfect timing routes and instill discipline. And they call the plays on gameday based on what the opposing defense is showing.

If the offense suddenly starts looking like the 2022 version, the coaches will deserve credit.

Probably have to accept that it's an outlier to win SB's with a QB taking this much of the cap too, no?

I remember when Patricks contract was looked at this great contract with great flexibility and maneuverability that would always allow us to sign players and make moves.

This narrative changed after the Tyreek deal and now it's this thing that keeps us from re-signing elite players and putting players around him. The re-structure definitely doesn't help the case.

I'll still hang on to the contract still being flexible if they choose. They just haven't chose that for some reason. I.e. using money from the backend of his contract to raise his numbers up the next 3 years instead of using cap space from this year and giving yourself room to sign players.

They "moneyballed" the weapons this year after it worked last year. It hasn't worked up to this point.

But everyone needs to understand, as we go along here, that's gonna have to happen somewhere.

It'll be interesting to see when they do it next year with the defense, who people will blame when we lost games in which the defense forced a punt or two. I don't know that Cp is ready for that.

It did allow them to do that. You don't like who they used the money to sign. They're never going to get to a point where he's making like 70 million dollars on the cap, so they're pretty hamstrung with it. It's the cost of doin business.

I'm not a fan either, I'd have kept Tyreek and traded all our picks for Brian Burns.
