They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

These receivers have me pining for guys like DeMarcus Robinson and Byron Pringle.

That is a sentence I never in a million years would’ve guessed I’d type. But here we are.

They need to treat WR like they did the DL. The CBs. The safeties. The OL. The DEs.

Go hire a top notch WR coach that has proven results of developing top talent and then go spend some big resources on the position.

I’d love it if this whole draft was skill position guys while also adding a playmaking WR in FA.

We do seem to be following the Packers model when they had Rogers as QB. And quite frankly we have done what many here at CP were advocating for in building our roster to surround Mahomes. That narrative was to give Mahomes (and Rogers in GB) a defense and an O-line and they would never lose. It didn't work out in GB, and it appears it's not the route that works best here either.

Give Mahomes his weapons, and let him work his magic going forward. And by weapons, I don't mean JAG's from other teams rosters like we have been doing.Castoffs from the G-men?

Get Mahomes some real talent to go with Rice going forward. If we have the 20th rated defense, so be it.

Purdy is in the lead for MVP because there is no one else. No one is playing this year at Mahomes 2022 level. the MVP will be Purdy, Dak, or Hurts.

So it's not that they are WORSE, it's that they aren't capable of what they are being asked to do at a higher level.
Exactly. I know people think we’ve got the same guys last year minus juju but we dont. Everyone is playing an elevated role and asked to do more.

I would also say defenses have adjusted to keep everything in front of them. Look at the cowboys and the jaguars (Trevor pre injury has been 1 of the top QBs). That jaguars offense evolved from leaning on etienne to last night where they were throwing the shit out of the ball. Look at how lafleur let Jordan love become a **** it and Chuck it qb.

Lefleur, McCarthy, pederson… these are 3 guys who started the season with a semi conservative offense and evolved to let their QBs just let it rip. Even stroud is a **** it and chuck it qb - he has some of the worst accuracy metrics but he isn’t afraid to just push it downfield. We just don’t have the flexibility to do that because of our wideouts.

Uh, people keep saying that because it's literally the truth. Take out Juju. Replace with Rice. It's the exact same room. And as we've seen recently and sprinkled throughout the year, Rice was and is absolutely capable of stepping in RIGHT NOW and giving us most of what Juju did, and in some aspects MORE.

Give it to Tyreek.

The league doesn’t want to do that, but it’s the right call

People underestimate what JuJu brought to the team. A veteran player who could get to where he was supposed to be and catch the ball. Rice has done okay but he's not brining what JuJu brought. We don't have that guy this year and the vet that we hoped would step up flails when the ball is in the air.

Yeah. We keep hearing how the room is the same so we can figure out who else is to blame. But it really isn’t. I agree I’d like to see rashee take more of the juju role on. But that doesn’t solve it either. Even with higher snap shares to rice we have no choice but to throw lots of snaps at WRs who aren’t very good. And we’ve reached a point where we are actively trying to hide them in our offense and yknow what, it’s probably our best option right now. I think defenses are better prepared for what we threw at them last year and kelce went a notch below juggernaut. We bet big on these catch and run guys and defenses are ready for it. We talk about eb but in 2020 we were caught with the same square pegs in round holes. Defenses dared us to throw short but all we had on our team were burners. Now it’s the opposite.

I think it’s possible we had right place right time last year. We had the right scheme for defenses who weren’t prepared for it, and we had players peak at the right times. Mvs wasn’t good last year. Toney barely saw the field even in the Super Bowl. They just happened to play terrific at just the right moments. And it feels like this year we’re still trying to capture that lightning in a bottle when what we badly need is consistency. Skyy was just never very good to begin with.

Like the interception the other night. Everyone bitches about the WR's making route adjustments and what not due to coverage......well that's what that way. Sky did what he was supposed to do, Pat didn't.

I've been out since Sunday, I'm not sure if that was said here or not, but in the end, Pat is making the most money of any QB in the league and if he doesn't play like it, we're behind the 8 ball somewhere.

The QB literally played better than any QB has in the history of keeping stats in the NFL of QB play.

That's what has to happen when you go with lesser cheaper WR's like this.

We need to sign and vet good WR and draft like 3. maybe cut Kelce and save 10 mil. He looks uninterested to be playing lately.

Andy has been doing this for decades, seen all there is to see. Yet he keeps playing the same WR's and such the same snaps for the most part.

What does that say?

Maybe I'm off, but it seems to say to me that they think it's more a QB thing than WR's.
