They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

Look, Mahomes is struggling too. On the first drive, first and goal, it's supposed to be a 3 step drop with a quick throw to Pacheco. Pacheco is open, Mahomes is looking at him, gets to his back foot, and doesn't throw it. If he does, it will be a gain if not a TD. However, he didn't and is sacked as it was being blocked as a 3 step drop. That made that drive exponentially harder and we settled for 3. Mahomes is overthinking when he gets to his back foot of his drop and is not throwing the ball consistently. That may be trust in the WR's, etc, but if Mahomes is who we know he is, he needs to get better as well. I think he will and I am not panicking.
The past 2 weeks mahomes has by and large taken what he’s given. Our air yards per attempt are extremely low. So you’re talking about a few misses on a very large sample size. He’s already making the sacrifice of playing largely outside of his strengths because this offense has no choice but to be conservative because it minimizes mistakes.

The WRs on the other hand… the past 2 weeks we’ve asked WRs outside of rashee to do so little. And yet they’re messing up on a high % of the few opportunities they get. That’s an issue.

I’m not in a panic because I believe the past 2 weeks have shown we’re going to adapt this offense to minimize the role of non-rashee WRs. It’s a formula that may work if our defense can stay consistently dominant in the playoff stretch. But I’m of the mindset that mahomes is still mahomes if we give him a pretty bare minimum of talent to work with.

That's it. That's all that has changed when it comes to the offensive personnel on the field from last year to this and yet we've dropped almost a touchdown in PPG and went from a top tier offense to a middle of the pack offense. The problems run far deeper than just the players on the field.
McKinnon was 2nd on the team in TD's with 9 last year

We need a veteran receiver who can run routes and make key receptions like JuJu did for us last year

We’ve definitely missed his contributions. It doesn’t help the offense when the two biggest contributors last season have showed signs of slowing down.

When you take away explosive plays then you need to have machine efficiency. These WR's don't have it in them in them because they will run the wrong routes or drop the ball too many times.

We needed to add guys that could threaten downfield at the trade deadline and Veach did nothing.

I don't care if Claypool is a diva and quitter. At least if you put him inside and tell him to run as fast as he can across the field it draws attention.

MVS doesn't draw anything now as no one cares what he does.

We don't have a vet chain mover and we don't have vertical threats. That's a recipe for disaster when Kelce is hurt and he looked like he was beat up last night.

Bitch about Skyy all you want, but that interception is on Mahomes, period. Any first year rookie QB knows you don't throw that pass if the Dback is over the top. I seriously don't know if Mahomes saw him, that is the only explanation, if he did it should have been a back shoulder, and that's appears to be what Skyy was reading as well.

Why can't it be both? There are former NFL players on Twitter calling out Skyy for running a bad route there. But even then, yes it was likely a bad decision to make that throw.

It was definitely a bad decision to make the throw, because it was a decision to throw a pass to Skyy Moore.

Bitch about Mahomes all you want, but his performances this season are on the the WR core, period.

You cherry pick all the posts in this thread to reply to and hone in on any comment that you believe incorrectly puts too much blame on our WRs, especially Skyy Moore. You do this whilst tip toeing around the huge elephant in the room which is that they ****ing suck. And instead of addressing the elephant in the room you blog about how Mahomes needs to be better.

You are a bitch.

because it's an easy read. The Dback was in position, over the top, so you throw the back shoulder, or you don't throw it. It appears sky was looking for an outside, back should throw, which he should have been doing.

Here are Moore’s comments. It looks like they were trying to run a pick/screen play where Rice would get in the way of Moore’s guy and open up the fade. Moore sees the guy playing off the LOS and thinks it’s a back shoulder.

It's not really a blame on anyone, the other guys get paid too.

It's been stated that they saw Mahomes mannerism and the DB knew the play, so he was in position to make the INT.

It was just good recognition and play.
