But that's the thing, it's not like he got any new money in it, they just borrowed money from his 2027-2030 years and put it in 2024-2026.

The same thing could have been accomplished by taking money from this year and spreading it out over the same period. The only difference is we would have benefited immediately instead of in 2027+ where he's getting a new contract anyway. That would have allowed us to sign a player or keep a player and front load their contract.

Am I off here on this?

Yep. I said weeks ago that this is not like other years when the offense was in a funk. Feel even more that way now. Not much can be done about it except hope that Andy can get just enough out of them.
