They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

What I would have done is pay Smith AND Wylie and not pay Juwaan Taylor so much..which would mean just not signing him. I did like the idea of Taylor but absolutely not at the price tag we got him for when you can pay waaaaaay less for not much worse production and then spend elsewhere on a much needed skill position.

We haven’t really seen Veach make a massive investment of resources at WR. I suspect that will happen this offseason. Let’s just hope those resources hit.
I don't know. He wasn't able to admit he made a mistake by adding someone besides Hardman at the deadline, so why would he admit a mistake after a playoff season?

He fixed the O Line, but their poor play wasn't his fault.

Same with the defense. He fixed, but their poor play wasn't his fault.

But these receivers? They are absolutely his fault. Will he be humbled, and take real steps to get a WR1, or will he allow his hubris to derail yet another season, ala Carl Peterson?

Where would MVS be career wise if his quarterbacks his whole career aren't Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers? Dude might be out of the league by now. Imagine having 2 of the best QBs ever to throw you the ball for 6 straight years and only averaging 400-600 yards a season.

I mean, we spent the past month trying to ask why mahomes doesn’t just chuck it to his WRs. And how WRs are flying open everywhere.

And yet whenever mahomes trusts them it’s 50/50 that they’re going to make the open play. We’re not talking about 50/50 balls. We’re talking about 50/50 to make plays nfl WRs should make. It’s not just drops it’s the maddeningly awful adjustments they make when the ball is in the air.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Yeah, it's not just that we don't have an elite 1.

Or a usable 2 like JuJu.

We have a bunch of guys that wouldn't be 3's or 4's on most NFL teams soaking up snaps.

Need better AND more guys that can play.

I was wrong about this group of WR.

Watson, Moore, MVS, Hardman, and Toney all have NFL ability in terms of their packages of speed, agility, and size. We’ve seen rare, isolated and sometimes unexpected moments of brilliance from all of them.

Collectively, their hands are well below NFL standards. And worst of all, the drops come in bunches.

But worst of all, they are football dumb. I’ve seen so many bad routes, miscommunications with Mahomes, not being able to track the ball, stopping their routes when they have beat their opponent, and losing concentration at critical moments. It just makes you shake your head. All of these contribute to the drops. But in many cases they just lack fundamental understanding about how to find open spaces, how to leverage physical talent to gain advantages over your opponent, how to help the QB, and where the ball is going to go. Football smarts and concentration to make catches are all learnable skills. They were all young enough to develop or had enough NFL success to expect more. But collectively they are colossally failing and not improving. WR by committee can work, but no one in this group seems to want to step up.

I hold hope for Rice, but he isn’t ready to take over games.

They all don't belong on the same team together. Maybe they can have limited success playing roles on teams with better wide receivers, but to have that group as your main core of wide receivers is a disaster. And we're seeing it play itself out.
