He absolutely can be and he was worse than Moore early this season. James looked lost and had zero grasp of the playbook before the injury. Mahomes can’t have any trust in James.

I sincerely hope he studied his ass off while on reserve.

spending on MVS was a bust

Skyy Moore in the 2nd was a bust

Rice in the 2nd looks like a hit

trading a 3rd for Toney is a bust, but I'll still take it for the epic punt return in the Superbowl and I still think we should just keep him at PR. I think his 1 or 2 catches for 15 yards per game can be "risked"

so that's 1 out of 4 in the real attempts to put together a WR unit. Those two second round picks and the Toney trade are the only draft capitol spent on receivers and MVS was the only real signing.

Just trying to put it in perspective. The attempt to field a good WR unit just failed and hopefully they do better next offseason. We've been spoiled on other positions being rebuilt with outstanding success (like LB and IOL).

Exactly!....It's really only the same set of "smart" guys, who refuse to see the obvious, because they want to appear to be smarter than everyone else.

You're taking 3 plays in isolation.

You're saying there are people who think the offensive struggles are predominantly on the back of Mahomes. Not remotely true. I don't think you can find anyone who believes that's the case.

Maybe they're 65% receivers, 17.5% Mahomes, and 17.5% Reid.

Does that mean Mahomes and Reid share none of the responsibility in improving things? Especially when they're the known commodities and the receivers were always going to be the wildcard that needed to develop?

I would not call MVS an outright bust of a signing.

That tale has yet to be fully written.

The first half of the book was great, even if the beginning was a bit slow.

The first part of the second half of the book is shitty but it's all in the ending...

He's absolutely underperforming this year but last year his stats were very much in line with his price point. And we got him at a late stage of the offseason where we needed bodies who could produce in the way he did.

He's part of the struggles this year though, but as you say, the book isn't entirely written.

No one will give a rat's patootie about MVS regular season numbers if he has 115 yards in a playoff win for us again.

Frank Clark 2023 come on down!

MVS is a role player. He plays best when there is a true #1 or a star on the roster he can play off of. It's like a center in today's NBA who doesn't have any skills. Without a good PG to play off of to get easy baskets he's not very effective, but give him talent around him and he suddenly looks better. Runs a more limited route tree as well. I'm hoping with Rice getting more and more snaps each week and cementing his role that this helps MVS shine as well.
