They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

Most I've seen have it at 18. And IIRC 8 of those were week 1.

i know, I know, i'm not giving the right context or something.
Yes, the right context might just be he’s indecisive and only making higher percentage throws.

Do you remember the wheel route he hit Fortson on in the Chargers game last seasons? How often have you seen him make that throw this season?

Right now we lack the flexibility to adapt out of catch and run and it shows. We need guys who can create before the ball gets into their hands. While I appreciate the optimism you’re asking for consistency out of guys who have an established career of inconsistency.

I’d bet money that Andy and Patrick will figure it out. They figured it out in 2020 also and we can ride that to the finish. But it’s a bandaid until we can start getting more consistent guys out there.
You don't 'adapt out of catch and run'. There's no 'catch and run' to adapt OUT of. It's simply an ability level at a specific football thing.

Andy Reid's offense is and has always been predicated on getting the ball to guys in space and letting them 'catch and run' with it, for YAC (yards after catch). It's just football. Having guys that are good with the ball in their hands is a good thing.

Nobody's arguing that the WR group has been great.

I'm just arguing that it's youth and not lack of talent. They're going to get better as they lean/get comfortable. It's growing pains, not 'these guys suck'.

I do not understand what Reid is seeing there. He's gone out of his way in recent weeks to pump smoke up his ass in particular, in at least one instance completely unsolicited, and it's making me pretty damn nervous that's he's going to be obstinate about Moore.

Megatron-

where is this 24 drops stat from?

I can only find up to date drop stats at 18, tying us with Detroit, ironically. As, you know, like 8 drops were in that game.

But where did you get 24?

Which instance was that?

Please don’t say Peter King.

He's never going to publicly trash a guy, he's just not.

but Moore has been getting far fewer snaps.

No. That seemed like more of a blanket statement.

Moore’s snap count is falling. Rice’s is going up. They get it.

Now we see if they can tweak the offense to make the most of it.

That's only part of it. They need to get the ball out in space in the hands of Toney and Hardman way more often than we have up to this point. As limited as some aspects of their repertoire is, they're both elite at YAC and that's one aspect we're sorely missing.

That’s what I’m saying. They need to change the structure and schematics of the offense and that’s both personnel and play calling. Reid gets it. Doesn’t mean he’ll succeed but you gotta trust his counterpunch holistically out of the bye after some self-scouting.

All I know is-

Toney looks like Toney to me, when they throw him the ball past the line of scrimmage. He's electric. And...they hardly ever do. I don't get it.

MOAR RICE.

LESS MOORE.

Yeah I know, they already are. I just wanted to type LESS MOORE.

Andy and Patrick are going to get this train on the tracks.
